Elijah Guillory scored 33 points, including four 3-pointers, to lead Moon to a 79-58 victory over Mars in a matchup of top teams in Section 4-5A boys basketball Tuesday night.
Michael Santicola scored 22 and Aiden Reesman added 15 for the Tigers (12-2, 5-0), who took control with a 28-point third quarter. Ryan Ceh led Mars (9-6, 3-2) with 17 points. Ben Detisch added 12 and Austin Campbell had 10.
Aliquippa 65, Shenango 31 – Joshua Pratt put up 23 points and Qa’lil Goode finished with 10 as Aliquippa (9-3, 4-0) coasted to a Section 1-2A win. Brody McQuiston scored 16 points to lead Shenango (9-5, 3-2).
Aquinas Academy 63, St. Joseph 45 – Sam Duer scored 17 points to lead Aquinas Academy (9-4, 2-2) to a Section 3-A win. Gabe Maltese scored 18 and Anthony Zavolta added 10 for St. Joseph (2-12, 2-4).
Belle Vernon 63, Elizabeth Forward 60 – Zion Moore led all scorers with 19 points, Trevor Kovatch added 14, Curtis Wade had 12 and Alonzo Wade followed with 10 as Belle Vernon (8-4, 3-2) edged Elizabeth Forward (9-4, 1-2) in Section 3-4A. Isaiah Turner scored 15 points, Cy Herchelroath put up 14, Daniel Spence finished with 11 and Charlie Meehlieb contributed 10 for the Warriors.
Bishop Canevin 76, Winchester Thurston 59 – Jason Cross scored 20 points, Drew Allen followed with 14, and Michael Vaughn and Raukeem Hawkins chipped in 13 apiece to power Bishop Canevin (7-5, 4-0) to a Section 2-2A win. Henry McComb scored 17, Anthony Pipkin added 11 and Matt Southers had 10 for Winchester Thurston (7-6, 2-2).
Carlynton 58, Cornell 40 – Jaydin McKnight scored 16 points and Carlynton (3-9, 2-2) used a 13-3 run in the second quarter to pull away from Cornell (3-9, 0-4) in Section 1-A.
Central Catholic 50, North Allegheny 37 – Vernon Settles scored 14 points and Payton Wehner followed with 11 as Central Catholic (8-5, 4-1) defeated North Allegheny (5-9, 2-2) in Section 1-6A. Ben Lukitsch led the Tigers with nine points.
Central Valley 53, Hopewell 25 – Isaiah Jeter sank seven 3-pointers and led all scorers with 27 points to help Central Valley (8-5, 3-3) to a Section 2-4A victory over Hopewell (6-7, 0-6).
Eden Christian 70, Propel Braddock Hills 26 – Nathan Garrett dropped 23 points, Luke Gronbeck added 17 and Brady Hull chipped in 12 for Eden Christian (5-7, 2-1) in Section 2-2A. Kato Hill led Propel Braddock Hills (3-10, 0-4) with 12 points.
Ellwood City 58, Riverside 32 – Joe Roth scored 19 points, Colton Crizer produced 12 and Nathan Williams hit for 10 to lead Ellwood City (8-6, 4-2) to a Section 1-3A win. Rob Janis had 13 points and Drake Fox finished with 11 for Riverside (5-10, 2-4).
Fort Cherry 66, Burgettstown 41 – Shane Cornali scored 13 points and pulled in 15 rebounds and Derek Errett added 18 points as Fort Cherry (10-4, 5-0) defeated Burgettstown (12-4, 5-1) to take the top spot in Section 4-2A. James Leuice led the Blue Devils with 12 points.
Greensburg Central Catholic 74, Springdale 33 – Franco Alvarez scored 16 points and Tyree Turner added 15 as Greensburg Central Catholic (13-2, 6-0) stayed unbeaten in Section 3-2A. Mason Gent led Springdale (9-5, 1-4) with 11 points.
Hampton 61, Greensburg Salem 22 – Peter Kramer hit for 15 points, Liam Mignogna dropped 12 and Zack Danner posted 10 to lead Hampton (12-2, 5-0) to a Section 1-4A win. Julian Stevens scored seven points to pace Greensburg Salem (2-13, 0-4).
Jeannette 72, Riverview 39 – Isaiah Mallich scored 21 points, Markus McGowan added 15, and Kymone Brown and Jayce Powell had 14 each to lead Jeannette (9-4, 4-1) to a Section 3-2A win. Nate Sprajcar scored 25 for Riverview (6-8, 1-5).
Lincoln Park 102, Blackhawk 57 – Meleek Thomas scored 30 points to lead four players in double figures for Lincoln Park (11-3, 5-0) in a Section 2-4A win. Brandin Cummings added 19, Rhaki Lum 17 and Mikey Crawford 11. Justin Shanor scored 18 and Tyler Heckathorn and Nate Franitti each added 12 for Blackhawk (4-10, 1-5).
Mohawk 64, Neshannock 52 – Jay Worna buried five 3-pointers and finished with 27 points while Keigan Hopper and Bobby Fadden each scored 12 points to lead Mohawk (9-6, 6-0) past Neshannock (12-2, 5-1) in Section 1-3A. Talan Anderton and Jake Rynd scored 13 and David Kwiat added 12 for the Lancers.
Montour 76, Quaker Valley 48 – Ama Sow dropped 18 points and Kaleb Platz and AJ Alston each scored 17 as Montour (10-2, 3-1) defeated Quaker Valley (7-7, 2-3) in Section 4-4A. Joe Coyle finished with 23 points to pace the Quakers.
Mt. Lebanon 64, Canon-McMillan 36 – Nate Girod sank five 3-pointers and finished with 17 points, Liam Seely added 16 points, Riley Farabaugh had 11 and Brody Barber added 10 as Mt. Lebanon (12-2, 4-1) beat Canon-McMillan (7-8, 2-3) in Section 2-6A. Ryan Galicic led the Big Macs with 11 points.
North Catholic 64, Beaver 49 – Max Hurray put up 23 points and Jason Fredericks added 10 as North Catholic (9-5, 5-1) bested Beaver (7-8, 3-3) in Section 2-4A. Brady Mayo made four 3-pointers and finished with 25 points and Ty Butler had 10 for the Bobcats.
North Hills 78, Chartiers Valley 66 – Zach Pollaro made four 3-pointers and dropped 30 points while Eric James scored 23 points and Nathan Schanbacher put up 20 to lead North Hills (6-7, 2-3) to a Section 4-5A win. Jayden Davis produced 28 points, Julius Best added 14 and Rudy Morris finished with 11 for Chartiers Valley (6-9, 1-4).
Northgate 63, Laurel 29 – Josh Williams (15), Landon Lockett (14), Rob McKinley (12) and Kaden Kemp (10) all scored in double figures for Northgate (9-3, 4-1) in a Section 1-2A victory against Laurel (2-12, 0-5).
OLSH 43, Keystone Oaks 40 – Tiernan McCullough scored 15 points and Jake Johnson followed with 13 as OLSH (10-4, 5-1) edged Keystone Oaks (4-10, 3-3) in Section 2-3A. Erond Jakupi, Ethan Spivak and Dante More scored 11 points apiece for the Golden Eagles.
Peters Township 74, Bethel Park 47 – Jack Dunbar dropped 18 points, Cam Mills and Sen Thelk each finished with 12 points, and Nick McCullough and Dylan Donovan each posted 10 points for Peters Township (10-4, 4-1) in a dominant Section 1-5A win. Nick Brown led all scorers with 19 points and Shawn Davis followed with 13 for Bethel Park (8-6, 3-2).
Rochester 55, Western Beaver 32 – Xavier Rigby and Jayvin Hemer each scored 13 points and Nate Bills followed with 11 as Rochester (8-5, 4-1) bested Western Beaver (2-12, 0-3) in Section 1-A. Jackson Liller scored 10 points for the Golden Beavers.
Seneca Valley 66, New Castle 51 – Tyler Pepin finished with 18 points and Owen Congdon had 15 points while Kai West scored 11 points and Jaxon Householder chipped in with 10 points for Seneca Valley (4-11, 1-3) in a Section 1-6A win. Ralph Blundo finished with 20 points and JT Warren added 14 for New Castle (11-5, 1-4).
Shaler 39, Fox Chapel 27 – Joey DeSabato led all scorers with 11 points as Shaler (14-1, 4-1) defeated Fox Chapel (9-7, 4-1) in Section 2-5A.
South Fayette 44, West allegheny 41 (2OT) – Gino Satira hit a game-winning, buzzer-beating 3-pointer from the top of the key in double overtime to lead South Fayette (8-6, 4-1) past West Allegheny (10-6, 0-5) in Section 4-5A.
Woodland Hills 68, Penn Hills 65 – Scoop Smith led all scorers with 32 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:07 left, as Woodland Hills (6-10, 3-2) rallied from a 15-point deficit in the second quarter to win in Section 2-5A. Amere Brown made four 3-pointers and finished with 20 points for the Wolverines. Robert Thomas had 17 points and 11 rebounds, Amon Hawthorne scored 14 points and Lamire Redman had 13 for Penn Hills (8-5, 2-3), which went 0 for 11 from 3-point range in the second half.
Yough 56, Charleroi 34 – Terek Crosby put up 20 points, Austin Matthews followed with 17 and Zander Aird scored 12 as Yough (9-4, 4-1) rolled to a Section 4-3A win. Jackson Keranko paced Charleroi (6-9, 2-4) with 17 points.

Fox Chapel 42, Shaler 37 – Natalia Schaffer scored 12 points while Skye Byrnes and Lyla Jablon added 11 apiece for Fox Chapel (4-11, 2-3) in a Section 2-5A win. Jorja Bernesser had 11 points for Shaler (5-10, 2-4).
Peters Township 52, Canon-McMillan 42 – Gemma Walker led all scorers with 22 points, Natalie Wetzel added 14 and Brianna Morreale had 10 as Peters Township (15-0, 6-0) beat Canon-McMillan (10-5, 3-3) in Section 2-6A. Nadia Davis scored 13 points and Lauren Borella finished with 12 for the Big Macs.
Union 52, Eden Christian 20 – Kylie Fruehstorfer made four 3-pointers and finished with 20 points and Kelly Cleaver followed with 16 as Union (10-5, 3-0) cruised to a Section 1-A win. Hope Haring scored 12 points to pace Eden Christian (8-7, 1-2).
Woodland Hills 56, Gateway 25 – Jhalynn Wilson put up 20 points while Mylee Young (16 points, 13 rebounds) and Hope Hawkins (12 points, 10 rebounds) recorded double-doubles as Woodland Hills (5-8, 3-3) beat Gateway (2-12, 0-6) in Section 1-5A.

Franklin Regional 43, Hempfield 26 – Henry Patts won by fall at 172 pounds to give Franklin Regional (14-0) the lead for good in a nonsection match. Tyler Kapusta (127), Luke Ankey (145) and Elisua Daugherty (285) also had pins, Dom Colaizzi (133) won by major decision and Cohen Buccione (139) by decision for the Panthers. Pierce Turner (160) won by fall and Nico Kapusta (107) and Ty King (121) won by major decision for Hempfield (2-7).
Hockey
Montour 6, McDowell 5 (SO) – Trey Varga scored the tying goal with 1:20 left in regulation to lead Montour (5-11) to a shootout win in Class A. Hunter Fiedler had two goals and an assist and Thomas Barefoot collected a goal and three assists for Montour. Gino Heenan and Ty Turer each had a goal and an assist for McDowell (3-9-2).
North Catholic 6, Meadville 1 – Ryan Berry had two goals and three assists and Beckett Dunn also scored twice for North Catholic (11-3-1) in a Class A win. Preston Phillis scored for Meadville (8-4-2).
Thomas Jefferson 5, Penn-Trafford 1 – Jake Stock had two goals and an assist and Andrew Oliver recorded a goal and two assists to lead Thomas Jefferson (11-2) to a Class 2A win. Cam Kiste scored for Penn-Trafford (6-5-2).
