Payton Newman scored 19 points as Neshannock avenged its only loss in Section 1-2A girls basketball this season with a 69-39 victory over Aliquippa on Monday night.

Ainsley Allison added 16 points, Sophia Bonner had 13 and Lily Rowe finished with 10 for the Lancers (16-2, 6-1). Aunesty Johnson scored 12 points and Denim Odom had 10 for the Quips (12-3, 6-1).

Armstrong 47, Gateway 12 – Marlo Mellish scored 20 points to lead Armstrong (3-13, 2-7) past Gateway (0-13, 0-8) to a Section 1-5A win.

Beth-Center 51, Jefferson-Morgan 27 – Calli Dorsey dropped 29 points and Violet Trump finished with 12 to lead Beth-Center (11-7, 5-2) in a Section 3-2A win. Leighana Gooden scored 10 points for Jefferson-Morgan (1-15, 0-6).

Bethel Park 72, West Allegheny 61 – Sadie Orie led with 35 points, Ella Sabatos followed with 14 and Kat Boff added 11 to push Bethel Park (9-8) to a nonsection win. Ella Smith scored 17 points and Alaina Holtz had 14 for West Allegheny (9-9).

Blackhawk 55, Central Valley 43 – Aubree Hupp scored 28 points and Andrea Kinger added 15 to push Blackhawk (16-2, 10-0) to a Section 2-4A win. Dominique Douglas scored 13 points and Isabella Miller had 10 for Central Valley (15-5, 6-2).

Butler 60, Woodland Hills 43 – Amelia McMichael put up 25 points to power Butler (9-8, 4-3) to a Section 1-6A win. Atiyah Walker scored 19 points and Mylee Young added 16 for Woodland Hills (5-10, 0-7).

Carlynton 41, Northgate 22 – Cydney McClendon scored 19 points and Carlee Hughes added nine to lead Carlynton (8-8, 2-4) past Northgate (1-16, 0-6) in a Section 2-2A win.

Chartiers Valley 54, New Castle 14 – Rachel Boehm scored 15 points and Ava Shazer chipped in 10 as Chartiers Valley (13-6, 9-1) defeated New Castle (7-11, 0-9) in Section 3-5A.

Chartiers-Houston 60, California 25 – Ava Kolovich scored 18 points and Allison Wingard added 12 for Chartiers-Houston (12-4, 5-0) in a Section 3-2A win. Addison Gregory produced 10 points to pace California (7-5, 4-3).

Deer Lakes 36, Ligonier Valley 19 – Josie Farster led all scorers with 17 points as Deer Lakes (12-6, 7-4) defeated Ligonier Valley (4-11, 2-8) in Section 2-3A. Sydnee Foust had eight points and 14 rebounds to pace the Rams.

Elizabeth Forward 59, Belle Vernon 26 – Mia Sostaric scored 15 points, Chloe Zombek had 14 and Kaelynn Settles added 10 to lead Elizabeth Forward (12-3, 9-0) to a Section 3-4A win over Belle Vernon (8-10, 5-5).

Ellwood City 59, Mohawk 37 – Caitlin Kreitzer scored 21 points, Elsie Sturgeon had 17 and Kayla Jones added 10 to lead Ellwood City (10-7, 6-5) to a Section 1-3A win. Gigi Pezzuolo scored 17 points for Mohawk (6-12, 4-7).

Fort Cherry 63, Brentwood 23 – Olivia Kemp and Jazlyn Martino each scored 14 points to lead Fort Cherry (14-2, 6-0) to a Section 2-2A win. Paige Boehm dropped 17 points for Brentwood (4-10, 2-4).

Freeport 55, Valley 38 – Nia DiSanti scored 19 points and Maggie Conger added 17 to lead Freeport (5-12, 4-6) to a Section 1-4A victory. Janelle Norman led all scorers with 20 points and Trinity Ingram finished with 11 for Valley (2-15, 1-9).

Geibel Catholic 61, Avella 36 – Emma Larkin led with 24 points, Ava Henderson followed with 18 and Mallory Clemmer added 15 for Geibel Catholic (17-1, 10-1) in a Section 2-A win. Ava Frank scored 11 points for Avella (8-10, 3-7).

Greensburg Central Catholic 59, Avonworth 40 – Erica Gribble hit for 25 points and Jayla Peterson followed with 15 to power Greensburg Central Catholic (12-3, 7-1) to a Section 2-3A victory. Greta O’Brien scored 14 and Emma Obersteiner added 12 for Avonworth (9-7, 6-4).

Hampton 37, Lincoln Park 27 – Katie Christy scored 13 points and Ellie Klocko added 10 to lead Hampton (9-7, 4-5) to a Section 2-4A win. Scarlett D’Amico scored nine points for Lincoln Park (4-12, 1-7).

Hempfield 58, Connellsville 36 – Reagan Fisher scored 22 points to lead Hempfield (9-8, 2-5) to a Section 2-6A win over Connellsville (3-14, 0-7). Lilly Houghtalen added 12 points for the Spartans. Whitney Bobish finished with 10 to pace the Falcons.

Highlands 51, Derry 25 – Tyarah Woody scored 22 points and Bella Bonnett added 19 to lead Highlands (5-12, 4-7) to a Section 1-4A win. Jane Huss scored 12 points for Derry (3-13, 1-10).

Indiana 36, Greensburg Salem 28 – Julia Antonacci scored 12 points to lead Indiana (14-3, 8-1) to a Section 2-5A win. Blessing Gantt scored eight for Greensburg Salem (10-8, 4-6).

Keystone Oaks 61, Charleroi 21 – Laney Wagner scored 13 points, including the 1,000th of her career, as Keystone Oaks (14-1, 7-1) rolled to a Section 3-3A win against Charleroi (0-18, 0-9). Nina Deweese led the Eagles with 16 points while Hannah York and Payton Hamilton each had 10.

Laurel 60, Rochester 49 – Maelee Hill led all scorers with 20 points, while Jael Henderson and Kyloe Ruperto scored 11 points apiece for Laurel (7-12, 3-4) in a Section 1-2A win. Tia Yellock dropped 19 points and Kamryn Newman added 17 for Rochester (8-8, 4-3).

Laurel Highlands 59, Mt. Pleasant 10 – Miya Harris led with 20 points and Aryianna Sumpter followed with 16 for Laurel Highlands (13-5, 8-3) in a Section 3-4A win over Mt. Pleasant (3-14, 3-8).

Leechburg 35, Eden Christian 34 – Addie Zanotto dropped 21 points to lead Leechburg (2-12, 2-7) to a Section 1-A victory. Hannah Wallace scored 16 points for Eden Christian (4-11, 3-7).

McKeesport 46, West Mifflin 31 – Emily Eisenberg scored 14 points, Jesica Miller added 13 and Adriana Allison chipped in 11 as McKeesport (5-14, 2-8) defeated West Mifflin (2-13, 0-9) in Section 2-5A. Savaughn Wimbs put up 11 for the Titans.

Montour 57, Mars 53 – Abby Cleary led all scorers with 22 points and drained four 3-pointers while Tiffany Miller added 21 points to lead Montour (8-10, 3-7) to a Section 3-5A win over Mars (10-8, 4-5). Vita Vargo and Cecelia Christy each scored 17 points and Alexis Cashdollar added 15 for the Fightin’ Planets. Addyson Kranak finished with 10 for the Spartans.

Mt. Lebanon 33, Canon McMillan 25 – Cali Green and Payton Collins scored 12 points apiece to lead Mt. Lebanon (11-7, 4-3) to a Section 2-6A win. Madison Clair scored seven points for Canon McMillan (10-7, 4-3).

North Catholic 52, Burrell 28 – Brady Wehner and Sam Weir scored 14 points apiece to lead North Catholic (15-2, 9-0) to a Section 1-4A win. Jules Fisher scored 11 points for Burrell (11-7, 6-5).

Oakland Catholic 55, Knoch 32 – Madison Pullen scored 19 points, Alayla Bivens had 14 and Zephania Troxler-Scott added 10 to lead Oakland Catholic (13-3, 9-1) to a Section 1-4A win. Neah Ewing scored 14 points for Knoch (8-9, 7-3).

OLSH 58, Sto-Rox 17 – Claudia Ierullo scored 15 points and Shae Trombetta added 12 for OLSH (16-2, 11-0) in a Section 1-3A win over Sto-Rox (6-10, 1-8).

Penn-Trafford 65, Plum 26 – Lauren Marton scored 19 points and 13 of her teammates also hit the scoresheet in a nonsection win for Penn-Trafford (18-0). Riley Stephans led Plum (5-11) with 11 points.

Pine-Richland 38, North Allegheny 33 – Cate Gentile produced 17 points and Rebekah Shaffer added 11 as Pine-Richland (5-12, 4-2) beat North Allegheny (6-10, 3-4) in Section 1-6A.

Quaker Valley 47, Riverside 32 – Mimi Thiero led with 22 points and Leasia Karto followed with 12 to push Quaker Valley (9-8, 7-4) to a Section 1-3A win. Emma Meyer scored 15 points for Riverside (12-7, 7-4).

Riverview 51, Apollo-Ridge 33 – Katerina Tsambis led Riverview (11-3, 6-1) with 27 points and Isabel Chaparro followed with 17 in a Section 4-2A win over Apollo-Ridge (7-10, 3-4).

Seneca Valley 60, North Hills 44 – Led by 21 points from Gracie Cato, 20 from Natalie Hambly and 13 from Brooke Dufford, Seneca Valley (12-5, 7-0) defeated North Hills (6-12, 2-5) in Section 1-6A.

Serra Catholic 59, Mapletown 19 – Bella Dumbroski scored 25 points and Nikki Sfanos and Abby Jones added 15 points each to lead Serra Catholic (11-6, 9-2) past Mapletown (3-15, 1-9) in Section 2-A.

Seton LaSalle 55, Waynesburg 29 – Tiara Curry scored 16 points and Addie Lonergan had 10 for Seton LaSalle (12-4, 8-1) in a Section 3-3A win over Waynesburg (8-8, 3-5).

Shady Side Academy 78, Steel Valley 20 – Cassie Sauer scored 30 points to lead Shady Side Academy (18-0, 11-0) to a Section 2-3A win over Steel Valley (2-14, 2-6).

South Allegheny 49, East Allegheny 28 – Ella Lotz scored 22 points and Jaz Farnan added 17 to lead South Allegheny (3-13, 3-6) to a Section 2-3A win. Ronniya Lawrence scored 11 points for East Allegheny (1-13, 0-10).

South Fayette 51, Moon 24 – Led by 13 points from Juliette Leroux, 12 from Lailah Wright and 10 from Haylie Lamonde, South Fayette (17-1, 10-0) picked up a Section 3-5A win. Maria Depner scored 15 for Moon (10-5, 5-3).

South Park 81, Ringgold 33 – Hayley Bennett led all scorers with 23 points and Ava D’Agostino finished with 15 as South Park (12-4, 9-2) cruised to a Section 3-4A. Jada Gernot had 13 points and Rhianna Fordham scored 12 for Ringgold (7-9, 1-7).

St. Joseph 60, Aquinas Academy 54 – Gia Richter scored 20 points and Kasey Cienik added 12 for St. Joseph (12-5, 8-2) in a Section 1-A win. Elliot Keverline scored 21 points and Becca Guillen had 13 for Aquinas Academy (10-6, 7-3).

Thomas Jefferson 73, Uniontown 23 – Kaylee DeAngelo and Maggie Spell scored 19 points apiece and Riley McCabe added 13 for Thomas Jefferson (16-2, 8-1) in a Section 4-5A win. Emily Myers and Lyric McLee scored eight points apiece for Uniontown (5-13, 1-8).

Union 54, Springdale 16 – Kylie Fruehstorfer finished with 23 points to send Union (17-0, 10-0) to a Section 1-A win. Jocelyn Dexter led Springdale (7-10, 4-5) with eight points.

West Greene 58, Monessen 13 – Kendra Tharp scored 22 points and Kylee Davis added 10 to lead West Greene (10-6, 4-5) to a Section 2-A win. Madison Johnson scored 13 points for Monessen (3-11, 1-9).

Western Beaver 34, Sewickley Academy 27 – Taraji Backur scored 16 points, Liz Squiquero followed with 14 and Molly Cephas had 10 for Western Beaver (4-13, 2-8) in a win over Sewickley Academy (4-11, 3-8) in Section 1-A.

Winchester Thurston 64, Frazier 27 – DaShae Cochran put up 16 points, Alexis Bansah added 14 and Aleah Cooper contributed 10 for Winchester Thurston (14-2, 7-0) in a Section 4-2A victory. Malana Burton led Frazier (5-12, 1-6) with eight points.

Yough 50, Southmoreland 37 – Brooke Kowalski led with 15 points and Carley Fitzgibbons added 14 for Yough (11-8, 5-6) in a Section 3-4A win. Olivia Aumer scored 11 points for Southmoreland (3-15, 1-10).

Boys basketball

Carrick 93, Aquinas Academy 83 – Brayden Fisher lit up the scoreboard with 42 points to lead Carrick (7-8) to a nonsection win over Aquinas Academy (14-3). Kelenn Ward added 25 and Stephon Malloy contributed 13 for the Raiders. Jake Guillen dropped 26 points, Sam Duer followed with 23 and Jonah Burchill scored 15 for the Crusaders.

Franklin Regional 65, Plum 54 – Connor Crossey dropped 25 points and Anthony Mitchell added 14 to lead Franklin Regional (7-10) to a nonsection win against Plum (7-8). Max Grice led all scorers with 26 points and Owen Proskin finished with 10 for the Mustangs.

Nazareth Prep 64, Beaver County Christian 30 – Leon Harrison scored 16 points, Michael Keyes followed with 15 and Will Evans finished with 13 as Nazareth Prep (12-4, 7-0) defeated Beaver County Christian (10-6, 3-4) in Section 1-A.

Neighborhood Academy 104, Environmental Charter 24 – Courtney Wallace led all scorers with 24, Kedron Gilmore followed with 21, Junior Onwubiko added 12, Shamar Simpson and Dante Wright each had 11 and Dre’Air Mack finished with 10 as Neighborhood Academy (18-1, 7-0) rolled to a Section 2-A win over Environmental Charter (0-12, 0-7).

North Catholic 80, Freeport 51 – Jude Rottmann scored 21 points to lead North Catholic (12-5, 7-1) to a Section 1-4A win. Jason Fredericks added 16, Brady Trout 12 and Eli Stofko 11 for the Trojans. Carson Kane and Danny King each scored 11 points for Freeport (4-12, 1-7).

Winchester Thurston 61, Freedom 50 – Mike Hammerling led with 16 points, Anthony Pipkin followed with 15 and Matt Southers added 14 to push Winchester Thurston (10-5) to a nonsection win. Justin Shegog scored 17 points and Will Kurrow had 12 for Freedom (1-14).

Wrestling

Avonworth 57, Central Valley 18 The Antelopes recorded six pins, received three forfeits and rolled to a win in the WPIAL Class 2A preliminary round at Greensburg Salem. The victory puts Avonworth (4-7) in a first-round match Wednesday at No. 3 McGuffey. Collecting pins were Mike Tabano (139), Luke Maddalena (145), Dimitri Velisaris (160), Jackson Krul (172), Bryce Metz (189) and Justin Beck (215). Angelo Boni (107) and Antonio Boni (121) had pins for Central Valley (5-8). It was Antonio Boni’s 100th win of his career.

In other Class 2A preliminary round matches, Elizabeth Forward (6-3) defeated Chartiers-Houston (5-4), 42-26 and Avella (10-11) beat Bentworth (6-7), 48-27. In Class 3A, Shaler (7-1) topped Ringgold (9-2), 38-36.

Butler 53, Belle Vernon 20 – Nicholas Savannah (107), Sullivan Stutz (121), Mason Swidzinski (127), Brennan Michael (172) and Troy Ritson (189) raced out to first-period pins to lead Butler (8-3) to a Class 3A preliminary round win. Santino Sloboda (133) and Kase Chopp (145) also had pins and Gavin Rush (152) won by tech fall for the Golden Tornado, who will meet Bethel Park in the first round Wednesday. Deydon Soto (139) and Kole Doppelheuer (160) won by fall, Elijah Brown (215) earned a tech fall and Rylee Doppelheuer (114) won by decision for Belle Vernon (5-3).

Moon 37, Peters Township 26 – Six wrestlers picked up bonus points to lead Moon (8-5) in the Class 3A preliminary round. Landon Lower (121) and Cael Yanek (133) had pins, Bryce Thomas (107), Liam Costa (160) and Michael Olszewski (172) won by technical fall, Khalil Razipour (215) earned a major decision and Karston Kirchner (114) and Elijah Thomas (145) won decisions for the Tigers, who will meet Franklin Regional in the first round Wednesday. Darius McMillon (152) and Zack Stromock (285) won by fall, Dane McMillon (127) and Parker Nave (189) by technical fall and Ryder Baker (139) by decision for Peters Township (11-9).

North Hills 40, Penn-Trafford 25 – North Hills (9-3) started the match with technical falls from Austin Demartino (160) and Carter Morvay (172) and pins from Christian Harris (189), Cameron Healey (215) and Burkhonjon Sobirjonov (285) and cruised to a Class 3A preliminary round win. Paul Cerminaro (139) and Thomas Cloonan (152) later won decisions for North Hills, which will meet Thomas Jefferson in the first round Wednesday. For Penn-Trafford (7-9), Dylan Barrett (114) and Sidney Hand (145) had pins, Luke DeSantis (121) and Jake Lang (127) won by tech fall and Logan Ventura (133) won a decision.

Hockey

Burrell 6, Elizabeth Forward 3 – Luke Mink scored twice and Julian Kemp racked up a goal and four assists to lead Burrell (13-2-1) to a Division 2 win. Mike Morazcyk had a goal and two assists. Bobby Boord Jr. had a hat trick for Elizabeth Forward (8-8).

Central Catholic 6, North Allegheny 0 – Noah Hritz scored a pair of goals to power Central Catholic (10-6) to a Class 3A win against North Allegheny (8-6). Billy George Jr., Chris Sargo, Nate Morgan and Judah Brophy each added a goal for the Vikings. Ben Balla made 32 saves for the shutout.

Fox Chapel 8, Norwin 3 – Dominic Casile scored a hat trick, Hayden Ferra had two goals and an assist and Tucker Cullen collected a goal and three assists to lead Fox Chapel (13-2-1) in Class 2A. Cade Zeravica had a first-period goal that tied the score 1-1 for Norwin (1-14-1).

Franklin Regional 3, South Fayette 2 – Ryan Crouse, Carter Yohe and Tyler Spears each scored first-period goals as Franklin Regional (7-8-1) held on for a Class 3A win. Trevor Dalessandro and Mason Vidak scored for South Fayette (8-6-1).

Gateway 7, Bishop Canevin 5 – CJ Evans scored a hat trick while Beau Ritson, Gavin Grant and Canyon Hines each scored a goal as Gateway (8-8-1) beat Bishop Canevin (8-9) in Division 2. Jack Misterka scored a pair of goals and Jack Lyons, Aidan Malay and Jayden Martincic each added a goal for the Crusaders.

Montour 11, Westmont Hilltop 0 – Thomas Barefoot scored five goals and had a pair of assists and Aiden Moskovitz scored a hat trick to power Montour (12-4) to a Class A win against Westmont Hilltop (1-15-1). Aydin Zielinski, Jimmy Stewart and Dom Dorsch each added a goal for the Spartans.

Moon 6, West Allegheny 4 – Clayton Foster collected two goals and an assist, Josh Koren added a goal and two assists and Eric Hartman had a goal and an assist for Moon (14-2-1) in a Class A win. Mason McGrath scored twice for West Allegheny (6-9).

Mt. Lebanon 3, Seneca Valley 1 – Griffin Krupp, Chayce Stasiowski and Aiden Ziolkowski scored and Hayden Baych made 34 saves to power Mt. Lebanon (13-1-1) in a matchup of the top two teams in Class 3A. John Nikolajski scored for Seneca Valley (11-3).

Neshannock 7, Knoch 4 – Will Kinchloe went off for five goals and John Monoides and Sam Mezzanotte each had a goal and an assist for Neshannock (12-3-1) in a Division 2 win. Nick Olshanski had a goal and two assists for Knoch (6-8-2).

Pine-Richland 7, Bethel Park 0 – Colten Andrighetti scored a natural hat trick and Douglas Van Meter added two goals to lead Pine-Richland (5-8-2) to a Class 3A win over Bethel Park (5-11). Adam Proctor and Jeremy Casper each added a goal and Graham Bogle stopped 11 shots for the shutout for the Rams.

Plum 5, Wheeling Central Catholic 2 – Rylan Schoonover and AJ Leah had a goal and an assist each and Andy Verrengia, Tyler Bresso and Anthony Smith also scored to lead Plum (11-6) to a Class A win. Aden Cooey and Maddox Ochap scored for Wheeling Central Catholic (7-9-1).

Wheeling Park 7, Butler 4 – Cooper Abraham had two goals and two assists. Luke Simonetti added a goal and two assists and Owen Abraham had a goal and an assist to lead Wheeling Park (10-3-2) to a Class A win. Anthony Trombatt scored twice for Butler (3-10-3).

Wilmington 6, Sewickley Academy 3 – Alex Rodgers scored a hat trick and Finn McGreal, Justin Girman and Ben Bruer each had a goal and an assist for Wilmington (2-11-1) in a Division 2 win. Max Kopf, Aiden Ferguson and Mario Thomas scored for Sewickley Academy (0-16-1).
