Lexi Heller scored 13 points as Norwin snapped a rare three-game losing streak with a 45-33 victory over Mt. Lebanon in Section 2-6A girls basketball Wednesday night.

Ava Christopher and Kendall Berger each added 10 points for the Knights (5-5, 2-1). Payton Collins dropped 18 points for the Blue Devils (7-5, 2-2).

Beth-Center 48, Carmichaels 13 – Violet Trump and Callie Dorsey scored 13 points apiece to help Beth-Center (7-5, 2-1) past Carmichaels (0-11, 0-3) in Section 3-2A.

Burrell 37, Freeport 31 – Jules Fisher and Casey Brancato each scored 11 points to lead Burrell (8-4, 3-2) to a Section 1-4A win. Lilly Holloway put up 10 points to pace Freeport (3-9, 2-3).

California 46, Uniontown 42 – Hayley Gibson scored 17 points and Olivia Gibson added 16 to lead California (4-3) to a nonsection win. Tess Nicholson put up 13 points to pace Uniontown (4-7).

Laurel Highlands 69, Belle Vernon 29 – Ayriana Sumpter led all scorers with 21, Taylor Irwin followed with 14, Sierra Jenkins had 12 and Miya Harris put up 11 as Laurel Highlands (8-4, 3-2) rolled to a Section 3-4A win. Abby Russell and Aubrey Brown each scored six points to lead Belle Vernon (4-8, 2-3).

Seton LaSalle 75, Washington 37 – Tiara Curry and Addie Lonergan scored 22 points apiece to send Seton LaSalle (9-3, 5-0) to a Section 3-3A win. Natalie Pascarella added 12 and Amari Elliot added 10 for the Rebels. Olivia Woods led Washington (4-7, 1-3) with 15 points.

Springdale 32, Sewickley Academy 29 – Ashlyn Ferderbar scored 10 points to pace Springdale (6-7, 3-2) in a Section 1-A victory. Emma Eannarino put up 12 for Sewickley (3-6, 2-3).

Union 46, St. Joseph 29 – Kylie Fruehstorfer dropped 25 points to power Union (10-0, 4-0) past St. Joseph (7-5, 3-2) in Section 1-A in a rematch of last year’s Class A WPIAL championship game. Bella Bartolovic scored 13 for the Spartans, who led 24-17 at halftime.

Winchester Thurston 58, Ellis School 26 – Sky Still and Alexis Bansah scored 14 points apiece to lead Winchester Thurston (8-2, 3-0) to a Section 4-2A victory. Selah Cyrus led Ellis School (5-4, 2-1) with 11 points.

Boys basketball

Aquinas Academy 91, Eden Christian Academy 68 – Jake Guillen lit up the scoreboard with 37 points and Sam Duer followed with 28 to lead Aquinas Academy (11-1) to a nonsection win. Mason Dean scored 27, River Bartram added 17 and Jackson Bremmer finished with 10 for Eden Christian (3-8).

Avella 74, Cornell 31 – Bryce Wright scored 21 points and sank five 3-pointers to boost Avella (7-5, 1-1) to a Section 1-A win. Nate Cilia added 13 points and Cameron Ullom followed with 12 for the Eagles. Alex Benitez led Cornell (1-9, 0-2) with nine points.

Carmichaels 37, Mapletown 27 – Dayton Reynolds scored 10 points to lead all scorers as Carmichaels (3-7, 2-3) won a Section 3-2A contest. Lucas Stevenson and Tyler Howard each scored eight points for Mapletown (0-10, 0-5).

Frazier 67, California 43 – Dalian McManus put up 22 points, Kolby Stewart dropped 18 and Conlan Higbee chipped in 10 as Frazier (3-9, 1-4) defeated California (2-9, 0-5) in Section 1-2A. Jacob Ziolecki scored 14 points for the Trojans.

Neighborhood Academy 81, Geibel Catholic 32 – Shamar Simpson scored 14 points to hit the 1,000-point mark for his career and help Neighborhood Academy (11-1, 3-0) to a Section 2-A win. Courtney Wallace led all scorers with 20 points, Derrick Hardenman and Syncer Nicholson each added 11 and Kedron Gilmore finished with 10 for Neighborhood Academy. Evan Strimel scored 11 for Geibel Catholic (6-5, 1-2).

South Side 56, Riverside 36 – Carter Wilson dropped 15 points while Mateja Pavlovich and Raymond Fischer scored 12 points apiece as South Side (9-4) beat Riverside (7-7) in nonsection play. Logan Young scored 11 points for the Panthers.

Southmoreland 64, Ligonier Valley 53 – Ty Whoric put up 26 points and Noah Felentzer added 14 for Southmoreland (10-2, 3-0) in a Section 4-3A victory against Ligonier Valley (6-5, 1-1). Parker Hollick led the Rams with 20 points.

West Greene 68, Burgettstown 40 – Lane Allison led all scorers with 19 points, Parker Burns added 13, Patrick Durbin contributed 11 and Matt Wassil finished with 10 as West Greene (6-5, 4-1) bested Burgettstown (3-9, 0-5) in Section 3-2A. Kolton County had 13 for the Blue Devils.

Winchester Thurston 71, Propel Braddock Hills 43 – Anthony Pipkin dropped 17 points, Elijah Bullock and Matt Southers each added 14, and Mike Hammerling followed with 10 as Winchester Thurston (6-4, 1-2) won a Section 2-2A matchup. Jarell Santiago scored 17 and Malik Jeter had 14 for Propel Braddock Hills (1-12, 0-5).
