Cy Herchelroath threw a perfect game, striking out 10, to carry Elizabeth Forward to a 1-0 victory over Ringgold in Section 2-4A baseball Monday.

Landon Jackson doubled and Mitchell Vuick singled him in in the top of the seventh to deliver the only run of the game for the Warriors (2-0, 1-0). Tyler Fisher allowed three hits and one run in 6⅔ innings to take the hard-luck loss for the Rams (1-3, 0-1).

Avella 4, West Greene 3 – Tristan Davis smacked an RBI groundout in the top of the eighth to give Avella (5-0, 1-0) a Section 1-A win over West Greene (0-1, 0-1). Bryce Wright doubled, homered and drove in two runs and Brayden Fuller got the win for the Eagles. Dylan Hughes hit a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game for the Pioneers. Hughes finished with three RBIs.

Avonworth 15, Calhoun Academy (SC) 0 – John Dolan went 3 for 3 with a homer and four RBIs and Cooper Scharding doubled twice and drove in two runs to lead Avonworth (3-1) at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach.

Beaver 2, Hopewell 1 – Derek Hughes clubbed a two-run double in the top of the seventh to give Beaver (3-0, 1-0) a win over Hopewell (0-3, 0-1) in Section 1-4A. Winning pitcher Ty Butler gave up one run on four hits and struck out nine in a complete game for the Bobcats. Charles Smetana went 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Vikings.

Bishop Canevin 15, Sewickley Academy 0 – Tyler Maddix tripled twice and knocked in three runs, Aaryn Edwards drove in a pair and Kole Olszewski doubled and had an RBI for Bishop Canevin (1-2, 1-0) in a Section 3-A win against Sewickley Academy (0-1, 0-1).

Blackhawk 10, Hampton 0 – Carter Davis doubled twice and knocked in three runs, Dylan Smith finished with three RBIs, and Loghan Elich drove in two as Blackhawk (2-0, 1-0) blanked Hampton (0-2, 0-1) in Section 1-4A. Brady Smith went 2 for 3 for the Talbots. Aiden Gill got the win for the Cougars.

Brentwood 13, Springdale 8 – Winning pitcher Blaize Diaz and Aidan Barker each drove in three runs while Colton Rosing and Gavin Broderick each doubled and knocked in a run to lead Brentwood (1-2, 1-0) to a Section 3-2A win. Andrew Redman pushed across two runs and Luke Bramson hit two doubles for Springdale (1-1, 0-1).

Carrick 13, Brashear 6 – Eli Wittman and Brayden Fisher each had a hit and three RBIs while winning pitcher Blake Andrews doubled and knocked in a run as Carrick (2-2, 1-0) beat Brashear (1-1, 0-1) in the City League. Michael Caskey finished with three RBIs and True Crawford doubled twice for the Bulls.

Central Valley 9, Ellwood City 7 – Daniel McIntosh homered and drove in three runs, Blake Heater knocked in two runs and Will Ciucci picked up the win for Central Valley (2-2) in nonsection play. Nathan Kennedy doubled and had two RBIs as Ellwood City (3-1) came up short after rallying for five runs in the bottom of the seventh.

Charleroi 14, Washington 4 – Braeden Todaro went 2 for 3 with four RBIs and Lazer Glasser was 3 for 4 with an RBI while Logan Usher pitched Charleroi (2-1, 1-0) to a Section 4-3A win. William Callan drove in two runs and Tristan Coney doubled for Washington (0-4, 0-1).

Deer Lakes 13, Southmoreland 3 – Ben Shurina went 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs and Nolan Danka had three hits and drove in two runs as Deer Lakes (1-2, 1-0) defeated Southmoreland (1-2, 0-1) in Section 3-3A. Blake McLaughlin knocked in two runs for the Scotties. Lucas Derose got the win for the Lancers.

Derry 7, Ligonier Valley 5 – John Wasnick had two hits, including a go-ahead two-run single in the fourth inning, to lead Derry (1-1) to a nonsection win. Mason Fridley hit a solo home run and Chad Jones got the win for the Trojans. Levi Moser had a hit and two RBIs and Austin Harr doubled and drove in a run for Ligonier Valley (1-3).

Eden Christian 19, Clairton 3 – Christian Watkins collected two hits and three RBIs, Brett Feldman doubled and drove in two runs and Brady Hull picked up the win for Eden Christian (4-0, 1-0) in Section 3-A. Tahvaz Armstrong tripled for Clairton (0-4, 0-1).

Fort Cherry 3, Beth-Center 2 – Matt Sieg smashed a walk-off RBI double to lift Fort Cherry (1-2, 1-0) over Beth-Center (1-1, 0-1) in Section 1-2A. Colton Temple hit a solo home run and winning pitcher Dylan Lueck doubled for the Rangers. Ashten Pinkney homered and drove in two for the Bulldogs.

Frazier 8, Bentworth 1 – Brant Alekson went 3 for 4 with a pair of RBIs, Tyler Morrison doubled and knocked in a run and Aidan Hardy earned the win as Frazier (4-0, 1-0) defeated Bentworth (0-1, 0-1) in Section 1-2A. Lucas Burt doubled for the Bearcats.

Freedom 14, Northgate 0 – Mason O’Donnell went 2 for 4 with a home run and four RBIs and Ryan Fessler doubled and drove in a run as Freedom (2-1, 1-0) defeated Northgate (0-3, 0-1) in Section 2-2A to give coach Dan O’Leary his 100th career victory at Freedom. Chris Crawford doubled for the Flames. Winning pitcher Zach Kuntz tossed five scoreless innings, surrendered two hits, and struck out eight for the Bulldogs.

Gateway 15, McGuffey 0 – Winning pitcher Jon Saunders tossed three shutout innings, allowing one hit, and struck out six while Max Cobbs doubled and knocked in four runs as Gateway (3-0) routed McGuffey (1-2) in a nonsection matchup. Sam Stout tripled for the Highlanders.

Laurel 10, New Brighton 3 – Tyler Shearer went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs, Connor Mackrell drove in a run and R.J. Kissick earned the win as Laurel (1-1, 1-0) beat New Brighton (0-3, 0-1) in Section 2-2A. Vernon Krepps doubled and knocked in a run for the Lions.

Leechburg 16, Union 1 – Mason Bertino went 3 for 3 with three RBIs while Garrett Jones, Jayden Floyd and Rocco Vigna each drove in two runs to lead Leechburg (1-1, 1-0) to a Section 2-A win. Cole Harper singled for Union (0-2, 0-1). Steven Snejan picked up a win for the Blue Devils.

Mt. Pleasant 10, Freeport 2 – Cole Chatfield went 2 for 4 with a double and Connor Drzal picked up the win for Mt. Pleasant (1-2, 1-0) in a Section 3-3A victory over Freeport (1-2, 0-1).

North Catholic 11, Ambridge 2 – Landon Eifler crushed a solo home run, Matthew Madonna doubled and drove in a run and Caden Williams earned a win as North Catholic (2-0, 1-0) beat Ambridge (2-1, 0-1) in Section 1-4A. Evan Francis homered and finished with two RBIs for the Bridgers.

North Hills 6, Valley 4 – Austin Demartino drove in a pair of runs, while Gabriel Negri, Tristan Weimann and Zachary Sprinkle each knocked in a run for North Hills (1-2) in a nonsection win. Julian Danko had two hits and an RBI for Valley (4-1). Cayden Cutler got the win for the Indians.

Norwin 9, North Allegheny 8 – Braden Wardzinski slapped a walk-off single in the seventh to lift Norwin (1-3) past North Allegheny (0-2) in nonsection play. Nate Silberman homered and knocked in two runs, Tristyn Tavares doubled and drove in a run and Matthew O’Neil picked up the win for the Knights. J.J. Mancuso homered and drove in three while Mason Smith doubled, homered and finished with an RBI for the Tigers.

Obama Academy 8, Sto-Rox 2 – Luke Ehman collected three hits and three RBIs while winning pitcher Clark Ehman and James Lozecki doubled and drove in a run to lead Obama Academy (2-1) to a nonsection win. JaMarcus Pierce doubled and plated two runs for Sto-Rox (0-3).

Pine-Richland 10, Mars 0 – Winning pitcher Keegan Deihl allowed one hit and struck out five in five innings while Benjamin Husted and Sam Heckert each doubled and drove in a pair of runs to lead Pine-Richland (3-0, 1-0) to a Section 3-5A win. Grady Speigle tripled for Mars (0-1, 0-1).

Plum 8, Armstrong 0 – Winning pitcher Braen Kemmerer struck out four and gave up two hits in six shutout innings while Michael Tedrick smashed a solo home run and Timmy Ruggiero doubled and knocked in three runs as Plum (5-0, 1-0) blanked Armstrong (1-2, 0-1) in Section 1-5A. Jake Domkowski doubled, tripled and had two RBIs for the Mustangs.

Riverside 8, Seneca Valley 1 – Winning pitcher Christian Lucarelli threw 4 ⅔ innings, giving up one run on one hit, and fanned 11 while Hunter Garvin smacked two doubles and drove in two runs and Drake Fox knocked in a pair to lead Riverside (3-0) to a nonsection win. Ryan Piekutoski doubled and had an RBI for Seneca Valley (1-2).

Riverview 10, Carlynton 0 – Johnny Bertucci threw a five-inning one-hitter with eight strikeouts while Miles Duncan and Rece Stempfer each drove in two runs to lead Riverview (4-0, 1-0) to a Section 3-2A win. Mason Mulligan had the only hit for Carlynton (2-2, 0-1).

Serra Catholic 17, Monessen 1 – Owen Dumbrosky and Jake Holmes each drove in a pair of runs while Cole Hann doubled and knocked in a run as Serra Catholic (4-1, 1-0) rolled to a Section 3-A win over Monessen (0-4, 0-1). Bodi Rieger got the win for the Golden Eagles.

Shaler 8, Fox Chapel 1 – Max Saban doubled and plated three runs, Luke Jarzynka and Joey Rispoli each doubled and had an RBI and Dante Deleonibus got the win as Shaler (2-2, 1-0) beat Fox Chapel (2-1, 0-1) in Section 3-5A. Antonio LeDonne drove in the only run for the Foxes.

Shenango 20, Aliquippa 0 – Joey Campoli went 2 for 2 with a double and four RBIs, Dom Dando had three RBIs and also doubled while Christian Anterock smashed a double and knocked in a pair of runs as Shenango (3-1, 1-0) beat Aliquippa (0-1, 0-1) in Section 2-2A. Luca Bible doubled for the Quips. Trey Ross got the win for the Wildcats.

South Fayette 7, Moon 2 – Trey Skeen went 2 for 4 with a pair of RBIs, Chaz Kosko was 3 for 3 with an RBI and Ethan Rose got the win as South Fayette (2-1, 1-0) defeated Moon (0-4, 0-1) in Section 2-5A. Nick Nachusko doubled for the Tigers.

South Side 13, Apollo-Ridge 9 – Ryder Goe hit a couple of doubles and knocked in three runs and Carter Wilson finished with two RBIs as South Side (2-1, 1-0) bested Apollo-Ridge (0-2, 0-1) in Section 3-2A. Noah Stewart tripled and had three RBIs and Richard Peach doubled and plated three runs for the Vikings. Ryan Shaw got the win for the Rams.

Trinity 6, Chartiers Valley 5 – Matthew Robaugh hit a solo home run and Derek Falvo drove in a pair of runs to lead Trinity (1-1, 1-0) to a Section 2-5A win. Jackson Burt threw four shutout innings and gave up two hits while striking out five for the Hillers. Colton Koza knocked in a run and Jake Federouch doubled for Chartiers Valley (2-3, 0-1).

West Allegheny 10, Allderdice 0 – Mason Gass fanned three in three innings and combined with Brandon Boyce and Daniel Sorenson to throw a five-inning no-hitter for West Allegheny (2-1, 1-0) against Allderdice (1-1, 0-1) in Section 3-5A. Jake McNabb doubled and drove in three runs and Dante D’Eramo tripled and knocked in two for the Indians.

West Mifflin 6, Albert Gallatin 0 – Derek Tudek went 2 for 4 with three RBIs, Chase Maggio went 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI and Justin Dillon got the win as West Mifflin (3-2, 1-0) shut out Albert Gallatin (0-2, 0-1) in Section 2-4A. Jason Myers doubled for the Colonials.

Western Beaver 11, Rochester 0 – Winning pitcher Vinny Ross gave up three hits and struck out eight in five shutout innings while going 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs to power Western Beaver (1-1, 1-0) to a Section 2-A win over Rochester (1-1, 0-1). Ethan Wilson tripled and knocked in three runs and Sawyer Chaffee doubled twice and had two RBIs for the Golden Beavers.

Wilmington 14, Mohawk 8 – Hunter Jones had three hits and three RBIs and Freddie Zehetner hit a solo home run for WIlmington (2-2) in a nonsection win over Mohawk (0-2). Bobby Fadden and Vinny Pezzuolo each tripled and knocked in a run for the Warriors.

Winchester Thurston 18, St. Joseph 8 – Kaelin Leimer clubbed three doubles and drove in five runs, Austin Lenhardt-Barley collected two hits and three RBIs and Sam McComb earned the win for Winchester Thurston (2-1, 1-0) in a Section 2-A victory. Owen Pakulski knocked in two runs and Luca Schiana DiCola doubled for St. Joseph (0-2, 0-1).

Allderdice 15, Obama Academy 0 – Gracie Whitt (3 for 3 with two doubles) and Brenna Altman (3 for 3, with two doubles and a triple) each drove in five runs in an Allderdice win over Obama Academy.

Apollo-Ridge 20, St. Joseph 0 – Olivia Saxion went 2 for 4 with a double and four RBIs and Madison Butler went 2 for 2 and drove in two runs to lead Apollo-Ridge (3-1) to a nonsection win over St. Joseph (0-1).

Armstrong 15, Karns City 1 – Calise Czekanski went 3 for 4 with three doubles and four RBIs, Evalyn Crissman went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs and Isabel Prazenica and Jordyn Klingensmith drove in two runs apiece for Armstrong (3-1) in a nonsection win over Karns City.

Beaver 16, Mars 1 – Bridget Mayo (3 for 3 with a double and a triple) and Olivia Peabody (2 for 3 with a double) each had four RBIs in a nonsection win for Beaver (4-1). Callie Simoni doubled for Mars (1-3).

Burrell 21, Worthington Christian (Ohio) 2 – Sabrina Hoover went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and Pyper Ferres and Shelby Novak each drove in a pair to lead Burrell (2-1) at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach. The Bucs also played to a 7-7 tie with Redbank Valley. Addy Wojtczak went 3 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs and Raelyn singled, tripled and drove in a run.

Canon-McMillan 4, Norwin 1 – Winning pitcher Brooke Bumer struck out 13 in a Section 1-6A win for Canon-McMillan (2-1, 1-0). Harley Tournay doubled and drove a run in for the Big Macs. Miley Harrison doubled and tripled for Norwin (0-3, 0-1).

Carmichaels 3, McGuffey 2 – Carys McConnell hit the go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth and winning pitcher Bailey Barnyak struck out 10 to lead Carmichaels (2-0) to a nonsection win. Kaitlyn Waggett tripled and Ashton Batis doubled for the Mighty Mikes. Miley Main hit a home run for McGuffey (1-1).

Chardon (Ohio) 6, Trinity 5 – McKenna Banville doubled and drove in two runs to lead Chardon (Ohio) at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach. Hanna Suchoski doubled and drove in three runs for Trinity (2-2).

Connellsville 10, Latrobe 8 – Cali Leichliter went 4 for 5 with three home runs and four RBIs, Kalyn Cole hit a double and home run and Molly Greenwalt homered for Connellsville (2-0) in a nonsection win. Sarah Blossey and Macie McHugh doubled for Latrobe (1-1).

Deer Lakes 6, Freeport 5 – Laney Dineff scored the game-winning run on a passed ball for Deer Lakes (1-5) in a nonsection game. Dineff also went 2 for 4 with a double and RBI. Sophia Laurenza went 3 for 4 and Riley Jones drove in two runs for the Lancers. Addison Gourley went 2 for 3 with a double for Freeport (3-1).

Derry 15, Jeannette 0 – Sophia Doherty went 3 for 3 with three homers and six RBIs, Kameryn Dunlap also homered and Haylee Myers gave up one hit and struck out nine in four innings to lead Derry (2-1) to a nonsection win over Jeannette (1-2).

Ellwood City 4, Shenango 0 – Riley Prestopine went 3 for 3 with a double, home run and two RBIs to lead Ellwood City (3-1) to a nonsection win. Zoe Offie went 2 for 4 for Shenango (1-2). Winning pitcher Amber McQuinston struck out seven for the Wolverines.

Highlands 14, Penn Hills 2 – Carrah Scardina went 3 for 4 with two doubles, a home run and four RBIs, Gabby Chambers hit three doubles and Madison Gorney hit a double and drove in three runs to lead Highlands (2-0) to a nonsection win over Penn Hills (1-3).

Hopewell 16, Rochester 1 – Alana Covalt went 3 for 4 with three doubles and two RBIs, Victoria Mann drove in three runs and Kara Barkovich doubled to lead Hopewell (2-1) to a nonsection win. Emily Weese doubled for Rochester (0-2).

Laurel 11, Mohawk 9 – Ivy Pancher (2 for 4 with a double) and Lexi Krol (2 for 3 with a double) combined for five RBIs in a nonsection win for Laurel (3-1). Lydia Cole went 3 for 3 with a double and five RBIs for Mohawk (2-1).

Leechburg 12, Valley 1 – Ava Ferretti went 2 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs and Addy Gardina drove in three runs to lead Leechburg (1-1) to a nonsection win. Ja’Myah Skinner went 2 for 2 for Valley (0-2). Adalyn Zanotto struck out 11 for the Blue Devils.

Marshall County (Tenn.) 3, Waynesburg 2 – Abby Leverette struck out eight in a complete game and Eryn Ketchum tripled and drove in a run to lead Marshall County at the Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Ellie Makell doubled and Kylee Schaum drove in a run for Waynesburg (1-2).

Mogadore (Ohio) 6, Brownsville 2 – Winning pitcher Addie Christy tripled and drove in a run to lead Mogadore (Ohio) at the Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. Alexa Pellick went 2 for 2 and Ava Clark struck out 15 for Brownsville (2-1).

Northgate 4, Bishop Canevin 2 – Bayleigh Hooper doubled in the sixth inning to provide the winning run for Northgate (3-1) in a nonsection win. Macie McClain struck out 11 and hit a two-run homer and Ava Washington doubled for Bishop Canevin (0-2). Johna Abramowicz struck out 17 and allowed only two hits for the Flames.

OLSH 14, Steel Valley 1 – Camryn Hummel and Sophia Wasko had two doubles and two RBIs apiece, Julia Pinter went 2 for 3 with a double and four RBIs and Ava Ciummo drove in two runs to lead OLSH (1-2) to a nonsection win. Darwin Burns singled for Steel Valley (0-2).

Penn-Trafford 8, North Hills 6 – Liz Welsh hit the go-ahead three-run homer in the sixth inning and finished 2 for 3 with four RBIs in a nonsection win for Penn-Trafford (2-1). Ella Mains doubled and had two RBIs and Giuluana Youngo (double, triple) each drove in a run for the Warriors. Mackenzie Roskwitalski went 3 for 5 with a double and three RBIs for North Hills (1-2).

Pine-Richland 16, Butler 3 – Sydney Bezila went 3 for 4 with two doubles and four RBIs in a Section 1-6A win for Pine-Richland (2-0, 1-0). Serafina Julio went 3 for 3 with a double and an RBI while Abbey Laurent had a home run and drove in three runs for the Rams. Kierra Smith doubled and had two RBIs for Butler (0-4, 0-1).

Seneca Valley 17, Woodland Hills 1 – Maci Milosicevic went 2 for 2 and had thee RBIs while Olivia Herrem (1-for-1) homered and drove in a run in Seneca Valley’s (3-0, 1-0) Section 1-6A win. Niyaer Jefferson had an RBI for Woodland Hills (0-2, 0-1).

Shaler 4, Hampton 3 – Alyssa Schaffold hit a three-run homer, Haley Machajewski tripled and Ellie Nichols double for Shaler (2-1) in a nonsection win. Aidan Hanna singled and drove in a run for Hampton (1-2). Winning pitcher Bria Bosiijevac struck out 12 in four innings for the Titans.

South Park 5, Uniontown 0 – Sydney Sekely and Reese Katich combined on a perfect game as South Park (3-0) beat Uniontown (1-1) in a nonsection matchup. Sekely struck out 14 in six innings and also went 2 for 3 with two RBIs at the plate. Grace Kempton drove in two runs and Kylie Mettrick hit two singles and drove in a run for the Eagles.

South Side 11, Carlynton 8 – Emma DeLong hit a double and triple, Madison Morrow went 3 for 5 with a double and four RBIs and Kenidi Cook went 3 for 3 with three RBIs to lead South Side (2-2) past Carlynton (0-2) in a nonsection win. Winning pitcher Maya Ringhoff struck out 13 for the Rams.

Union 15, Western Beaver 0 – Mia Pruehs threw a three-inning no-hitter and struck out six for Union (2-0) in a nonsection win over Western Beaver (0-3). Pruehs also went 3 for 3 with a double and four RBIs at the plate. Addie Nogay hit two doubles and Olivia Benedict drove in three runs for the Scotties.

West Mifflin 6, Serra Catholic 0 – Winning pitcher Rylie Dobnak allowed one hit in seven innings while striking out nine in a nonsection win for West Mifflin (2-1). Adilee Salopek doubled and had two RBIs while Taylor Krivanek tripled for the Titans.

West Shamokin 14, Indiana 11 – Maya Mcllwain homered and drove in three runs in West Shamokin’s nonsection win. Avery Elkin went 2 for 3 with a home run and an RBI for the Wolves (3-1). Hannah Ianarelli (3 for 5) had two doubles and four RBIs for Indiana (1-4).

Boys volleyball

Canon-McMillan 3, Central Catholic 1 – Justin Peters had nine kills and 15 assists and Jack Steele and Euan Syme each added eight kills and four blocks to lead Canon-McMillan to a nonsection win. Aydin Winkelblech dished out 12 assists and Nolan Rosings recorded 20 digs.

Norwin 3, Baldwin 1 – Dane Thompson had nine kills, John Olshanski and Christian Reiter added eight kills apiece and Nick Ames had five blocks to lead Norwin to a nonsection win.

Girls lacrosse

Fox Chapel 13, North Hills 8 – Caroline Grimsley had three goals and four assists and Meg Delaney also scored three goals to lead Fox Chapel to a Section 2-3A win. Alice McLeland and Zehra Ozkaya each scored twice and Elise Hanna had a goal and an assist for the Foxes.

Pine-Richland 18, Wooster 8 – Claire Mill scored five goals, Cate Gentille had four goals and three assists and Mallory Boivin and Madeline Mill each recorded a hat trick as Pine-Richland (4-0) rolled over Wooster in nonsection play. Kendyll Jerry and MacKay Young each added a goal for the Rams.
