High school roundup for March 4, 2025: North Allegheny blanks Central Catholic in Penguins Cup playoffs

Gianni Lochiatto scored a second-period goal and Cam Junker made 20 saves to lead No. 3 North Allegheny to a 1-0 victory over No. 6 Central Catholic in the PIHL Penguins Cup Class 3A playoffs Tuesday night.
Ben Balla made 21 saves for Central Catholic. North Allegheny will meet No. 7 South Fayette in the semifinals at 9:15 p.m. Monday at the RMU Island Sports Complex.
Morgantown 11, Gateway 0 – Cooper Cox scored a hat trick and added two assists to lead No. 1 Morgantown past No. 8 Gateway in the Division 2 quarterfinals. John DiBartolomeo had a goal and four assists and Geno Valenti finished with two goals and an assist for Morgantown, which will meet No. 4 Neshannock in the semifinals at 6:45 p.m. March 13 at RMU Island Sports Center.
