High school roundup for Nov. 10, 2025: Pine-Richland slips past Franklin Regional in OT

Carson Verszyla had three goals and an assist and Cullen Campbell scored the overtime winner to lead Pine-Richland to a 5-4 win over Franklin Regional in PIHL Class 3A hockey Monday night.

Michael Desjardins also scored for Pine-Richland (3-3-1). Joey Casella scored twice and Grant Williams and Jacob Keefe each added a goal for Franklin Regional (1-3-2).

Central Valley 5, Neshannock 3 – Cameron McGuire had two goals and an assist, Treyton Palocsik also scored twice, Caleb McQuaid added a goal and Gavin Husk made 35 saves to help Central Valley (1-3-1) to a Division 2 win. Marko Relic scored twice, Butch Burgess added a goal and Jacob Gruber dished out three assists for Neshannock (6-1).

Elizabeth Forward 2, Sewickley Academy 1 – Brock Stephenson scored two goals and Isaac Rine made 20 saves to lead Elizabeth Forward (2-5) to a Division 2 win. Mario Thomas scored for Sewickley Academy (1-6-1).

Mars 4, Plum 1 – Garrett Myers and Max Pitkins each had a goal and an assist and Cooper Stevens and Jack Tirch also scored to send Mars (6-0-1) to a Class A win. Colby Bartos scored for Plum (2-3).

Meadville 6, Richland 2 – Ryan Yunik had two goals and two assists and Ethan Gredler added two goals and an assist to lead Meadville (3-3-2) to a Class A win. Wesley Dunlap scored twice for Richland (0-5).

North Catholic 2, Moon 1 (SO) – Shane Schollaert scored in the first period and Darren Riley made 30 saves to lead North Catholic (4-2) to a shootout win in Class A. LJ Defilippo scored the tying goal for Moon (6-1-2) with 3:28 left in regulation.

Penn-Trafford 6, Hempfield 4 – Sean Goodman and Brock Bienemann each had two goals and an assist to power Penn-Trafford (6-1) to a Class 2A win. Lorvens Huber had a goal and an assist and Rylan Kiste also scored for P-T. Colby Herron scored twice, JJ Williams had a goal and two assists and Jonathan Holtzman also scored for Hempfield (5-1).

Quaker Valley 6, Hampton 3 – Matthias Lezama had two goals and an assist and Luke Koehler also scored twice to lead Quaker Valley (7-1) to a Class A win. Stefan Mauer and Jace Vasbinder also scored for QV. Scott Cameron scored twice and Elijah Schwarzbach added a goal for Hampton (3-2-1).

Shaler 6, Wheeling Park 1 – Matthew Stelitano had a hat trick and added an assist, Chase Irwin scored twice and Roman Angelo collected a goal and two assists to lead Shaler (2-4) to a Class 2A win. Luke Simonetti scored for Wheeling Park (0-3-2).
