High school roundup for Nov. 11, 2025: South Fayette roars into PIAA girls soccer finals

Mia Deramo netted two goals and had two assists to power WPIAL runner-up South Fayette to a 6-1 victory over District 9 champion DuBois in the PIAA Class 3A girls soccer semifinals Tuesday night in Ellwood City.

Quinn Miller, Silvi Rossi, Nora Davidovich and Emma Ferrari also scored for the Lions (21-2-1), who will take on District 1 champ Radnor (20-4) in the finals at 1 p.m. Saturday at Northeastern High School in Manchester.

CB East 1, North Allegheny 0 – Kiera Sleicher scored a first-half goal and Central Bucks East (21-4) made it stand up in a shutout victory over WPIAL champion North Allegheny (19-4-2) in the Class 4A semifinals. CB East will meet CB South in the state finals Saturday.

Boys soccer

Abington 4, Seneca Valley 1 – District 1 runner-up Abington (21-2-3) reached the PIAA finals for the first time, knocking off Seneca Valley (19-4) in the Class 4A semifinals. Benjamin Baronner scored for the Raiders.

Bentworth 2, OLSH 1 – The Chargers got one goal closer this time but the result was ultimately the same as Bentworth (24-0) defeated OLSH (19-2) in a rematch of the WPIAL championship game in the PIAA Class A semifinals. In the WPIAL finals, Bentworth won, 3-1. Adam Moessner and an own goal made the difference for Bentworth, which will meet Delco Christian in the state finals at 4 p.m. Saturday at Northeastern High School in Manchester. Hunter Smith scored for OLSH.

Conrad Weiser 3, Allderdice 1 – Parker Centeno, Owen Meredith and Sebastian Knoll scored as defending state champ Conrad Weiser (24-0-1) continued its assault on the western half of the state, defeating City League champ Allderdice (16-6) in the Class 3A semifinals. Conrad Weiser defeated Thomas Jefferson, Franklin Regional and Allderdice to reach the state finals, where it will meet Abington Heights on Saturday. Julian Dixon-Webster scored, assisted by Luke Peña, for the Dragons.

Girls volleyball

Avonworth 3, Corry 1 – Avonworth’s magical playoff run will carry the Antelopes all the way to the state finals. Avonworth (19-6) defeated undefeated District 10 champ Corry (20-1) in four games, 20-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-15, in the PIAA Class 2A semifinals. The Antelopes, who opened the playoffs as the No. 11 seed in the WPIAL bracket before reeling off seven straight wins, will meet District 12 champion Lansdale Catholic in the finals at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cumberland Valley.

Maplewood 3, Eden Christian 0 – WPIAL champion Eden Christian (18-5) saw its season end at the hands of six-time state champ Maplewood (22-2), the District 10 champion, in three games in the Class A semifinals, 25-14, 25-21, 25-20. Maplewood will face Tri Valley for the state title Saturday.

Pine-Richland 3, Unionville 1 – In the WPIAL semifinals, Pine-Richland knocked off eight-time defending state champion North Allegheny. Now the Rams are taking over the Tigers’ spot in the state finals as well. Pine-Richland (17-6) rolled to a 25-21, 22-25, 28-26, 25-22 victory over District 1 runner-up Unionville (21-2) in the Class 4A semifinals. The Rams will meet District 1 champ Spring-Ford in the state finals at 6 p.m. Saturday at Cumberland Valley.

Hockey

Bethel Park 10, Baldwin 0 – Peter Velisaris had two goals and an assist and Luke Fauth also scored twice to send Bethel Park (4-2-1) past Baldwin (2-5-1) in Class 2A.

Bishop McCort 5, Latrobe 3 – Zakhar Bryndin had two goals and an assist and Ben Cannizzaro had a goal and two assists to lead Bishop McCort (5-2) to a Class 2A win. Jaxson Kettering scored a hat trick and Brogan Murphy had three assists for Latrobe (4-3-1).

Connellsville 5, McDowell 1 – Logan Hause scored twice for Connellsville in a Division 2 win. Riley Denny, Bennett Stull (one assist) and Sam Denny each scored for Connellsville (4-1). Ross Triola had the lone goal for McDowell (3-3).

Greensburg Salem 9, Westmont Hilltop 4 – Jake Fink filled the stat sheet with five goals and an assist as Greensburg Salem rolled to a Class A victory. Luke Dieter scored twice, Jeremiah Faulk had a goal and an assist, Cam Cherok also scored and Nate Ross dished out three assists for Greensburg Salem (3-5-1). Cullen Carlson finished with two goals and an assist for Westmont Hilltop (0-5).

Peters Township 5, South Fayette 3 – Chay Lamagna scored a hat trick and added an assist and Carter Meneely and Blake Evancic also scored to help Peters Township (4-1-1) to a Class 3A victory. Mikhail Lobanov and Nathaniel Keller each had a goal and an assist for South Fayette (3-5).

Trinity 9, Wilmington 5 – Seamus Coyle had three goals and two assists and Henry Coyle had two goals and three assists to power Trinity (2-4) to a Division 2 win. Zach Jiblits added two goals and an assist and Cale Bitz had a goal and an assist for Trinity. Beckett Miller had a hat trick and added an assist for Wilmington (1-3).
