High school roundup for Nov. 17, 2025: Seneca Valley stays unbeaten with 9-goal outburst

Braden Morin collected three goals and two assists to lead Seneca Valley to a 9-1 victory over Fox Chapel in PIHL Class 3A hockey Monday night.

Cooper Hoehn had two goals and an assist, Jacob Gilbert added a goal and two assists and Leyton Moreau had a goal and an assist for Seneca Valley (7-0). Spencer Goehring scored for Fox Chapel (3-5).

Butler 5, Plum 2 – Greyson Steadman scored twice and Lucus Hensler, Mason Heichel and Zachary Zandarski also scored for Butler (5-1) in a Class A win. Joseph Massarelli and Josh Lewis scored for Plum (2-5).

Deer Lakes 5, Sewickley Academy 4 (OT) – Charlie Stefanik scored his second goal of the game in the first minute of overtime to lead Deer Lakes (5-2) to a Division 2 victory. Brayden Wilhelm had a goal and two assists, Uriah Barr had a goal and an assist and Mason Cervone also scored for Deer Lakes. Arjun Kathju had a goal and an assist and Evan Baker, Brooks Kraina and Mario Thomas also scored for Sewickley Academy (1-7-1).

Knoch 4, McDowell 1 – Brady Linamen scored twice, Synjun McHattie added a goal and two assists and Tyson Voloch had a goal and an assist to power Knoch (6-3) to a Division 2 victory. Brayden Burnette scored for McDowell (3-3).

Moon 3, Montour 2 – Eric Hartman and David Gallup had second-period goals and Ben Poeta also scored to lead Moon (7-1-2) to a Class A win. Trey Varga and Braden Kulak scored and Camden Molka made 53 saves for Montour (2-5-1).

Neshannock 3, Connellsville 2 – Butch Burgess, Reece Feury and J Lohr scored and Tripp Johns made 25 saves to lead Neshannock (8-1) to a Division 2 win. Connor Basinger had a goal and an assist and Santo Crucio also scored for Connellsville (5-2).

Penn-Trafford 6, Cathedral Prep 2 – Ben Zierski had a five-point night, recording a goal and four assists, to lead Penn-Trafford (7-1) over Cathedral Prep in (1-4-1) in Class 2A. Sean Goodman had two goals and two assists, Zach Grkman added two goals and an assist and Liam Lehneke had a goal and three assists for Penn-Trafford. Michael Corritore and Dylan Graham scored for Cathedral Prep.

Pine-Richland 6, Central Catholic 5 (OT) – Jackson Naik scored the overtime winner, Carson Verszyla had two goals and an assist and Cullen Campbell, Michael Desjardins and Luca Newill also scored for Pine-Richland (4-3-1) in Class 3A. Chris Sargo scored a hat trick for Central Catholic (5-1-2).

Quaker Valley 9, Meadville 1 – Max Modrovich had a hat trick and added an assist, Matthias Lezama finished with two goals and three assists and Ben McHenry had a goal and three assists to send Quaker Valley (8-1) to a Class A win. Gordie Benninger scored for Meadville (3-4-2).

Thomas Jefferson 6, Franklin Regional 4 – Michael Burns had two goals and an assist and Lucas Blose finished with a goal and three assists to lead Thomas Jefferson (4-3) to a Class 3A win. Jacob Simon had a goal and an assist and Ty Hartman and Cam Lorenzi also scored for TJ. Joey Casella, Michael Pint and Ryan Crouse scored for Franklin Regional (2-4-2).

Wheeling Park 5, Baldwin 1 – Luke Simonetti had two goals and an assist and Daniel Tatich also scored twice for Wheeling Park (0-3-2) in a Class 2A win. Mack Dempsey scored for Baldwin (2-5-1).
