High school roundup for Nov. 18, 2024: Christopher Muschar sparks North Hills with 5-point night

Christopher Muschar racked up three goals and two assists and Ameer Cooper scored twice to lead North Hills to a 10-1 victory over Freeport in PIHL Class A hockey Monday night. Dillon Cobaugh added a goal and two assists for North Hills (3-3). Aiden Bauman scored for Freeport (1-7).

Avonworth 6, West Allegheny 3 – Connor Ralston and Austin Dzadovsky each had two goals and an assist for Avonworth (6-2) in a Class A win. Cooper Powell added a goal and an assist and Jimmy Shields also scored. Austin Falick scored twice and Chase Noel added a goal for West Allegheny (3-4).

Gateway 4, Deer Lakes 3 – CJ Evans scored twice and Beau Ritson and Connor Olson added a goal each to lead Gateway (2-5-1) to a Division 2 win. Carter Catalano and Mason Cervone scored for Deer Lakes (4-4).

Moon 5, Richland 1 – Jordan Rieke scored twice, Eric Hartman and Josh Koren each had a goal and an assist and Clayton Foster dished out three assists to power Moon (8-1) to a Class A win. Evan Wadsworth scored for Richland (0-8).

Morgantown 8, Carrick 1 – Cooper Cox scored a hat trick and added an assist and John DiBartolomeo racked up a goal and five assists to lead Morgantown (6-1) in Division 2. Shane Birkenfeld scored for Carrick (4-3-1).

Neshannock 4, Connellsville 3 (SO) – Sam Mezzanotte scored the tying goal with 5:07 left to help Neshannock (4-2-1) to a shootout win in Division 2. John Moniodes and Ben Hamilton also scored for Neshannock. Tony Fleck, Hunter Garlick and Liam King scored for Connellsville (5-1-1).

North Catholic 8, Hampton 1 – Anthony Neely and Carson Paglia each scored twice and Lukas Hixon had a goal and two assists to lead North Catholic (6-2) to a Class A victory. Sam Modlin scored for Hampton (3-6).

Penn-Trafford 9, Armstrong 0 – Aiden Drotos collected two goals and two assists and Tyler Funk made 15 saves to record the shutout, leading Penn-Trafford to a 9-0 victory over Armstrong (4-3) in PIHL Class 2A hockey Monday night. Cam Kiste, Brock Bienemann and Marco Ferraccio each had a goal and an assist for Penn-Trafford (7-1).

Plum 4, Meadville 2 – Colby Bartos, Luca Lapiana, Nick Majors and Tyler Bartos scored to help Plum (4-5) to a Class A win. Graham Shellhaas and Robert Mahoney scored for Meadville (3-5).

Upper St. Clair 5, Central Catholic 0 – Eli Rankin scored two goals and Owen Laurent made 32 saves to lead Upper St. Clair (4-3-1) past Central Catholic (4-3-2) in Class 3A. Dylan Yealy had a goal and two assists, Amir Alsahlani aded a goal and an assist and Jackson Rose also scored.

Wheeling Park 4, Mars 1 – Gavin Hudrik scored twice and Cooper Abraham had a goal and two assists to lead Wheeling Park (5-1-1) to a Class A win. Jack Weaver scored for Mars (6-3).
