Andrew Prunier, Jaxon Camp and Parker Brennan scored to lead Montour to a 3-1 victory over Moon in a key Section 2-3A boys soccer matchup Tuesday.
Montour (11-2, 11-1) now leads Moon (12-3-1, 10-1-1) in the race for first place in the section with two games remaining. Mike Walenchok scored for the Tigers.
Avonworth 2, Beaver 0 – Calder Mahan scored both Avonworth (13-2-1, 11-1) goals as the Antelopes shut out Beaver (8-6, 7-4) and clinched the Section 4-2A title.
Baldwin 4, Hempfield 1 – Anthony DiCesaro scored twice and Chris Sandy and Mike Fry each had a goal for Baldwin (4-11, 2-10) in a Section 2-4A victory. Quentin Pettinato scored for Hempfield (0-14, 0-12).
Bentworth 4, Beth-Center 1 – John Scott scored two goals and Ryan Moessner and Zach Pysh each scored a goal for Bentworth (12-2, 8-2) in a Section 2-A win over Beth-Center (9-6, 4-5). Mikey Rodriguez scored for the Bulldogs.
Bethel Park 5, Connellsville 1 – Xavier Jackson scored twice and Jackson Friday had a goal and three assists for Bethel Park (14-1-1, 12-0-1) in a Section 3-3A win over Connellsville (6-10, 4-9). Henry Gaston and Max LeMessuier also scored.
Burrell 2, Aquinas Academy 1 – Hadyn Herbulock and Jayson Ireland scored to lift Burrell (12-1, 10-1) to a Section 3-A win at Aquinas Academy (7-9, 4-8). Taber Driscoll recorded a pair of assists for the Bucs.
Butler 1, Fox Chapel 0 – Nick Niebauer scored and Lawson Neigh had the assist for Butler (11-2-3, 8-2-2) in a Section 1-4A win over Fox Chapel (8-4-2, 7-4-2). Drew Knight recorded the shutout for the Golden Tornado.
Canon-McMillan 4, Allderdice 1 – Ryan Galicic had a hat trick to lead Canon-McMillan (8-6-1, 8-4-1) to a Section 2-4A win. Tatum Miller scored for Allderdice (2-10, 2-9).
Central Valley 2, Blackhawk 0 – Owen Shearer and Sean Kennelly scored for Central Valley (7-6-2, 5-6-2) in a Section 2-3A win over Blackhawk (3-14, 1-12).
Charleroi 1, Greensburg Central Catholic 0 – Joel Chambers scored the winning goal and Nathan Mazon kept a clean sheet as Charleroi (16-0, 10-0) finished its section schedule undefeated with a shutout of Greensburg Central (6-9, 4-5) in Section 2-A.
Chartiers Valley 4, Ambridge 1 – John Krug scored twice and Mustafa Ozkan and Landon DeOrio also had goals for Chartiers Valley (6-7, 6-5) in a Section 2-3A win over Ambridge (1-15-1, 1-11-1).
Deer Lakes 5, Greensburg Salem 0 – Artemey Parshyn had a hat trick and Wes Boyle recorded the shutout to lead Deer Lakes (12-2, 11-1) past Greensburg Salem (5-10, 4-9) in Section 2-2A. Peyton Kushon and Collin Rodgers also scored.
Elizabeth Forward 3, Woodland Hills 2 – Dom Cavalier, Carson Ruffing and Will Sinay scored to lead Elizabeth Forward (9-4-1, 8-4-1) past Woodland Hills (6-7, 6-6) in a Section 1-2A win.
Jeannette 1, Shady Side Academy 1 – Jared Vincent scored off a Jordan Taylor assist to help Jeannette (9-6-1, 6-6-1) to a Section 2-2A draw, improving the Jayhawks’ playoff chances. Mitch David scored for Shady Side Academy (10-3-1, 9-2-1).
Hampton 7, Armstrong 0 – Luke Fiscus had four goals and two assists and Coleman Docherty collected three goals and an assist to lead Hampton (12-1-1, 10-0-1) past Armstrong (5-10-1, 3-8-1) in Section 1-3A.
Keystone Oaks 4, East Allegheny 1 – Jake Loper, Ayden Worstell, Makram Ishaq and Steven Gdovic scored as Keystone Oaks (9-5, 9-4) beat East Allegheny (9-4-1, 8-4-1) in Section 1-2A.
Knoch 16, Leechburg 0 – Kannon Trofimuk had a hat trick while Will Schwalm, Will Parisi, Evan Haas and Austin Friedline each scored a pair of goals as Knoch (10-7, 10-3) rolled to a Section 2-2A win against Leechburg (0-13, 0-12). Mason Nebel, Cam Elliot, Jacob Murdie, Jordan Auther and Jacob Fox also scored.
Latrobe 3, Gateway 2 – Warren Agostoni scored the game-winning goal with 3:30 left to lead Latrobe (11-3, 10-3) past Gateway (7-5-2, 7-4-2) in Section 4-3A. Roman Agostoni and Ben Bigi also scored for the Wildcats.
Ligonier Valley 4, California 0 – Hunter Wright scored two goals and Derek Street and Michael Vargulish Graver added a goal apiece for Ligonier Valley (4-9-1, 1-8) in a Section 2-A win over California (3-10, 1-7).

Thomas Jefferson 2, Ringgold 0 – Ray Schrello and Jake Shoemaker scored and Sam Wessel recorded the shutout to lead Thomas Jefferson (13-2-1, 11-1-1) past Ringgold (11-3-1, 9-3-1) in Section 3-3A.
Trinity 7, Uniontown 0 – Andrew Palm scored a hat trick, Faiden Hodgson scored a pair and Tyler Johnson and Nathan Jones each tallied a goal as Trinity (7-5-1, 7-5-1) shut out Uniontown (5-12, 2-11) in Section 3-3A.
Upper St. Clair 1, Peters Township 1 – Jan Sames scored to help Upper St. Clair (13-1-1, 11-1-1) to a draw, helping the Panthers clinch the section title. Blake Gabelhart scored for Peters Township (10-3-1, 9-3-1).
Yough 2, Waynesburg 0 – Collin Barner scored both goals to power Yough (8-7-1, 7-6) past Waynesburg (5-10, 5-8) in Section 3-2A.

Serra Catholic 4, Steel Valley 4 – Lexie Genes and Lydia Reith scored two goals each to help Serra Catholic (4-7-1, 3-7-1) to a Section 1-A draw with Steel Valley (2-13-1, 2-7-1).

Leah Myers had 17 kills and eight aces, Jocelyn Ellsworth dished out 11 assists, Ashley Metts and Kymber Hlatky each had nine digs, and Mikayla Shea added five kills and five blocks.
Brownsville 3, Beth-Center 0 – Mackenzie Wade had 16 assists, Caylee Balabon had five kills and 10 digs, Skyler Gates had 18 kills and 10 blocks, and Cassidee Settles had three aces and nine digs as Brownsville (8-7, 7-7) swept Beth-Center (5-11, 5-10) for a Section 3-2A victory.
Burrell 3, Apollo-Ridge 0 – Addy Rusek had nine kills, Pyper Ferres and Isabella Greenwald had four aces apiece and Gia Hornack had 15 digs as Burrell (12-2, 9-2) beat Apollo-Ridge (5-8, 3-8) in Section 5-2A.
California 3, Avella 0 – Nina Conte had 12 kills and four aces to lead California (7-4, 7-3) to a Section 2-A win. Azzy Colditz recorded 11 assists, four kills and two blocks, and Ava Bojtos had 13 assists and 22 service points.
Canon-McMillan 3, Peters Township 0 – Natalie Carr had 12 kills, Abby Tucker followed with 11 kills, Josie Carter had 21 assists and nine digs, and Olivia Gross had 11 assists and three kills as Canon-McMillan (11-2, 7-0) swept Peters Township (7-6, 4-3) in Section 2-4A. Julia Murdy had 15 digs and Sophia Powell added 10 digs for the Big Macs.
Hampton 3, McKeesport 0 – Lilly Muczinski had six aces, two kills and eight assists, Emmy Schrom led the Talbots with eight kills, Avery Koontz had seven digs, and Kassidy Thompson had four digs and 12 assists as Hampton (15-0, 10-0) swept McKeesport (6-7, 3-6) in Section 1-3A.
Knoch 3, Blackhawk 0 – Sabrina Schlott had seven kills and Karlee Buterbaugh added six kills and 13 digs for Knoch (11-4, 6-2) in a Section 4-3A win. Jess Farbacher had 10 service points and nine digs for the Knights.
Laurel 3, Mohawk 0 – Kayla Carlson had 10 kills and Dakota Weldon had added eight kills and six aces to lead Laurel (4-10, 4-7) to a Section 1-2A win. Hailey Collins had 13 assists and Tori Atkins added four digs, four blocks and seven kills.

Penn-Trafford 3, Shaler 0 – Kylie Anthony had 10 kills and Olivia Pepple added eight to help Penn-Trafford (9-3, 7-0) to a Section 3-4A win.
Southmoreland 3, Waynesburg 0 – Taylor Doppelheuer had nine kills and Riley Puckey had four kills and 17 assists as Southmoreland (16-0, 14-0) remained undefeated with a Section 3-2A win over Waynesburg (9-6, 9-4).

Penn-Trafford 2, Latrobe 1 – Ava Hershberger scored two goals to lead Penn-Trafford to a Section 2A win over Latrobe.

Bethel Park 4, Cathedral Prep 1 – Doug Hartman scored a pair of goals and Ethan Cooley and Ian Majernik each added a goal for Bethel Park (2-1-0) in a Class 3A win. Henry Fritts had the lone goal for Cathedral Prep (1-1-0).
North Allegheny 2, Peters Township 1 – Marc Joyson and Travis Lamark scored to lead North Allegheny (2-0) in a Class 3A win. Drew Alexander scored for Peters Township (1-1).
Boys golf
Class 3A – Colton Lusk shot a 72 to lead Peters Township to a first-place finish in the WPIAL team semifinals at The Links at Spring Church with a 392 total. Indiana (398) and Butler (400) also qualified for the WPIAL finals. Butler’s Hunter Swidalski was medalist with a 71.
Ravi Desai shot a 73 and Colin Ward a 75 to help North Allegheny to a total of 391 and a first-place finish at the Duck Hollow GC semifinal. Led by a 74 from Carson Kittsley and a 78 from Davis Kittsley, Fox Chapel finished second at 398. South Fayette (400) also made the finals. Avonworth’s Kai Carlson was medalist with a 69.
The Class 3A and 2A finals are Thursday at Cedarbrook GC.
Class 2A – Jordan Mocello carded a 76 and Jack Edwards a 78 to lead Belle Vernon to a first-place finish in the WPIAL semifinal at Pleasant Valley GC with a team total of 407. South Park (410) and Uniontown (413) also qualified for the WPIAL finals. South Park’s Logan Augustine was medalist with a 74.
Mason Hopper shot a 77 to help Mohawk (406) to a one-stroke win over Neshannock (407) at the Beaver Valley GC semifinal. Quaker Valley (409) also qualified for the WPIAL finals, finishing third behind a 71 from medalist Ethan Dai
Girls tennis
Class 2A team playoffs – Tess and Eve Kuzneski won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles to lead No. 4 Indiana past No. 13 Central Valley in a first-round match. The doubles teams of Kate Lehman and Grace Cook and Katarina Medvetz and Johanna Welch also won for Indiana. Central Valley’s Rachel Hardek won at No.1 singles.
Indiana will meet No. 5 Hampton in Thursday’s quarterfinals. The Talbots defeated N0. 12 South Park, 5-0.
In another first-round match, No. 7 Quaker Valley swept No. 10 Derry, 5-0.
Jay Olawaiye at No. 1 singles and the team of Taylor Martin and Keira Cowher at No. 2 doubles won three-set matches. Livia Jobbins and Hannah Stein and the team of Jane Lenhard and Parker Barnes won in straight sets.
Quaker Valley will face No. 2 Sewickley Academy in the semifinals. SA beat No. 15 McGuffey, 5-0.
In other first-round matches, No. 9 Winchester Thurston topped No. 8 Chartiers Valley, 4-1, No. 3 North Catholic swept No. 14 Southmoreland, 5-0 and No. 6 Beaver got past No. 11 Montour, 3-2.
In Thursday’s quarterfinals, top-seeded Knoch, which had a first-round bye, takes on Winchester Thurston, North Catholic faces Beaver, and Sewickley Academy meets Quaker Valley.
