Mandy Pirosko had a goal and an assist to lead Peters Township to a 3-1 victory over Mt. Lebanon (12-3, 7-2) on Monday night, clinching the Section 2-4A girls soccer title.
Marina Hajnosz and Brynn Busch also scored and Fallan Malley handed out two assists for Peters Township (11-1-2, 9-0).
Allderdice 3, Butler 2 (OT) – Moriah Neiss netted the game winner and Kaleah Sharif and Brooklyn Potter also scored to lead Allderdice (8-5) to a Section 3-4A exhibition win. Lucia Leyland and Cecelia Wolford scored for Butler (6-7-1).
Aquinas Academy 2, Carlynton 0 – Becca Guillen scored both goals as Aquinas Academy (6-6, 6-5) clinched a playoff berth with a Section 3-A win over Carlynton (7-5-1, 6-3).
Belle Vernon 1, Keystone Oaks 0 – Ali Watson scored for Belle Vernon (11-4-1, 8-2-1) in a Section 1-2A win over Keystone Oaks (7-8, 6-4).
Bentworth 2, Beth-Center 1 – Bella Moyer scored both goals for Bentworth (13-1-1, 9-0) in a Section 2-A win over Beth-Center (6-9, 2-7).
Central Valley 7, Hopewell 0 – Aubrey Grater had five goals and an assist to power Central Valley (10-2-1, 7-1-1) to a Section 3-2A win over Hopewell (0-11, 0-9). Madison Denkovich and Nina Guandolo also scored and Reagan Patten had three assists for the Warriors.
Chartiers-Houston 9, California 1 – Ali Wingard, Cecilia Hess and Payten Conner scored two goals apiece and Grace Littlecott, Nana Bimpong and Haley Siege also found the net for Chartiers-Houston (7-4-2, 5-2-2) in a Section 2-A win over California (1-10, 0-9).
Deer Lakes 10, East Allegheny 0 – Ten players scored for Deer Lakes (12-2, 7-2) in a Section 4-2A win over East Allegheny (1-11, 0-9).
Elizabeth Forward 3, Greensburg Salem 0 – Leilana Speney, Maicee Smith and Ella Loos scored and Annalise Didjunas earned the shutout in goal for Elizabeth Forward (7-5, 6-5) in a Section 4-3A win over Greensburg Salem (5-9, 3-7).
Fox Chapel 4, Hampton 0 – Emily McKee had a hat trick for Fox Chapel (12-1-1, 8-0-1) in a Section 1-3A win over Hampton (7-5-1, 3-4-1). McKee hit the 200-point mark for her career (88 goals, 27 assists).
Franklin Regional 3, Blackhawk 0 – Grace Copeland scored twice, Reese Regelski also had a goal, Caitlyn Chinchock dished out two assists and Addison Ayres recorded her 11th shutout of the season, leading Franklin Regional (12-3) to a nonsection win over Blackhawk (2-9-2).
Freeport 1, Burrell 0 – Cece Schlegel found Peyton Los for the game-winning goal as Freeport (13-1, 9-0) defeated Burrell (9-4-2, 5-3-1) in Section 2-2A. Alyssa Alcorn kept a clean sheet for the Yellowjackets.
Greensburg Central Catholic 2, Apollo-Ridge 1 – Skyler Ashbaugh and Jayla Peterson scored to lead Greensburg Central Catholic (3-5, 3-5) past Apollo-Ridge (0-8, 0-8) in Section 4-A.
Hempfield 3, Woodland Hills 0 – Callie Buljat and Lexi Smitley each had a goal and an assist and Jiana Patterson also scored for Hempfield (3-12, 2-7) in a Section 1-4A win over Woodland Hills (1-10, 0-9).
Latrobe 6, Armstrong 0 – Emerson Shine had two goals and three assists, Annalyse Bauer added two goals and two assists and Gianna Trunzo recorded the shutout for Latrobe (7-6, 6-3) in a Section 1-4A win over Armstrong (7-8-1, 4-5). Geli Dent and Ella Plundo also scored for the Wildcats.
Mars 3, Shaler 0 – Kuv Halliday, Maeve O’Leary and Jade Breeze scored for Mars (10-3-1, 6-2-1) in a Section 1-3A win over Shaler (8-4-1, 4-4).
Montour 2, West Allegheny 1 – Irelyn Hobbs scored both goals to lead Montour (11-2, 9-1) to a Section 2-3A win. Ella Smith scored for West Allegheny (7-7, 6-4).
Moon 8, Trinity 0 – Kendall Dydek had a hat trick, Riley LaFayette followed with two goals and Emma Jones, Quinn Arnold and Junie Shaver added a goal apiece to lead Moon (13-1, 11-0) to a Section 2-3A win over Trinity (2-8-2, 1-8-1).
Mt. Pleasant 4, Southmoreland 0 – Morgan Gesinski had a hat trick and Raygan Mizikar added a goal to help Mt. Pleasant (12-3-1, 9-0) defeat Southmoreland (7-7-1, 5-4) and clinch the Section 4-2A title.
North Allegheny 2, Seneca Valley 1 – Avery Ruffus converted a second-half penalty kick and Ava Hutter also scored to lead North Allegheny (10-3-2, 4-2-1) to a Section 3-4A win. Karly Majeski scored for Seneca Valley (9-3-2, 6-1).
North Catholic 1, Shady Side Academy 0 – Simone Sharpless scored the winning goal and Jules Tralongo preserved the shutout to lead North Catholic (11-4, 6-3) past Shady Side Academy (6-8, 4-5) in Section 2-2A.
Obama Academy 3, Penn Hills 2 – Luna Mengine, Zenia Cook and Jing Yi Lowe scored for Obama Academy (3-12) in a Section 1-3A exhibition win over Penn Hills (1-12).
Pine-Richland 4, North Hills 0 – Lily Rosenwasser scored a hat trick, Riley White had a goal and two assists and Shea Best and Amelia Van Meter combined on the shutout for Pine-Richland (12-2-1, 5-2-1) in a Section 3-4A win over North Hills (3-11-1, 0-6-1). The result clinched a playoff berth for Butler.
Plum 2, Kiski Area 0 – Gianna Revetta and Olivia Bigger scored and Malayna Smith recorded the shutout to lead Plum (11-1, 10-0) to a Section 4-3A win over Kiski Area (7-6, 7-4).
Quaker Valley 3, Beaver 0 – Annabel Miko, Hope Waller and Kallie McCune scored and Ava Hajok recorded the shutout to lead Quaker Valley (12-1-1, 8-0-1) to a Section 3-2A win over Beaver (8-7-1, 5-4-1).
Seton LaSalle 6, Serra Catholic 0 – Kennedy Bakota had a hat trick and Syd Morgs, Tori Carter and Anna Porter also scored to lead Seton LaSalle (10-3, 8-2) to a Section 3-A win over Serra Catholic (6-7, 3-7). Maurah Hoyt was in goal for the shutout.
Sewickley Academy 9, South Allegheny 0 – Emma Eannarino had a hat trick and Sarah Merryman scored twice to lead Sewickley Academy (13-1, 10-0) past South Allegheny (1-12, 0-10) in Section 3-A. Olivia Stefanik, Claire Karsman, Marin Edmunds and Amelia Hayden also scored for the Panthers.
South Fayette 4, Thomas Jefferson 1 – Silvanna Rossi had a goal and two assists, Mia Deramo and Quinn Miller each added a goal and an assist and Abbey Spalla also scored as South Fayette (12-1-1, 9-0) defeated Thomas Jefferson (9-7, 7-2) to clinch the Section 3-3A title.
South Park 7, Ringgold 0 – Berlin Washington had a hat trick and Hayley Bennett, Avery Rispoli, Bella DeRenzo and Gabriella Bonacci added a goal apiece to lead South Park (15-0, 10-0) to a Section 1-2A win over Ringgold (5-8-1, 5-5-1).
Upper St. Clair 5, Connellsville 1 – Natalia DiSora had a pair of goals and Callie Roberts, Audrey Bodamer and Penny Walker also scored to power Upper St. Clair (7-4-2, 4-4-1) past Connellsville (3-10-1, 1-8) to clinch a playoff spot in Section 2-4A.
West Mifflin 3, Indiana 2 (OT) – Molly Chelosky scored the game-winning goal in overtime for West Mifflin (4-10, 1-9) in a Section 4-3A win. Madelyn Williams scored both goals for Indiana (1-13, 1-9). Jada Downs scored two goals for the Titans.
Yough 10, Ligonier Valley 1 – Daisy Miller led with four goals and Mya Kutler added two for Yough (7-8, 5-4) in a Section 4-2A win over Ligonier Valley (2-12, 1-8). Addie Watkins, Kate Slavick, Brittany Baumeister and Carly Fitzgibbons also scored for the Cougars. Siri Kuhns scored for the Rams.
Boys soccer
Avonworth 6, Hopewell 0 – Jimmy Quinn had two goals and an assist to lead Avonworth (14-1-1, 12-1-1) past Hopewell (6-7, 6-6) in Section 2-2A.
Girls volleyball
Beaver 3, Laurel 0 – Jaedyn Brown had 12 kills, Kayden Blinn finished with 21 assists and 11 digs and Aubrey Bumblis added 16 digs and five assists to lead Beaver (11-1) to a nonsection win over Laurel (5-8). Kailyn Connelly had five kills, six digs and two aces and Anna Vinopal added four kills and two aces for the Bobcats.
Brownsville 3, Charleroi 0 – AiJanae Foster had 11 kills and Skyler Gates added 10 kills and four blocks to lead Brownsville (12-1, 9-1) past Charleroi (0-13, 0-10) in Section 3-2A. Kenzie Adams dished out 22 assists, Haylee Feick recorded 14 service points and Lena Rechichar had seven service points and three kills.
Mars 3, Avonworth 0 – Cecilia Christy had 13 kills and four aces, Rylee Wooldridge added eight kills and Gabi Weidemann finished with 30 assists and 10 digs as Mars (10-4) picked up a nonsection win over Avonworth (8-6).
Mohawk 3, Union 0 – Reagan Magno had eight kills and Marli McBride added seven kills for Mohawk (11-3) in a nonsection win over Union (5-7).

Bishop McCort 4, Norwin 3 (OT) – Isaiah Leib’s second goal of the game was the overtime winner for Bishop McCort (1-1) in a Class 2A victory.Mason Hohman had a hat trick and Brody Boban dished out three assists for Norwin (0-1-1).
Burrell 9, Carrick 2 – Jared Wall had a hat trick, Dante Taliani added two goals and Thomas Kilgour had a goal and an assist to lead Burrell (3-0) to a Division 2 win. Kian Conroy and Ethan Semenov scored for Carrick (0-1).
Fox Chapel 4, Upper St. Clair 3 (SO) – Linden Trac, Ian Berdik and Gavin Forbes scored and Miles Carey made 29 saves to lead Fox Chapel (1-1) to a shootout win in Class 3A. Jordan Lucca scored twice, including the tying goal in the third period, for Upper St. Clair (0-0-2). Nevin Shegan Siniawski also scored.
Greensburg Salem 8, South Park 3 – Jake Fink collected three goals and two assists to lead Greensburg Salem (1-1) to a Class A win. Luke Dieter had a goal and three assists, Jeremiah Faulk scored twice and Crosby Kushner and Bryce Ferace also had goals for Greensburg Salem. Karl Stewart and Jack Kalafatis each had a goal and an assist and Corey Mooney also scored for South Park (0-2).
Hempfield 4, Latrobe 2 – Guerin Gardner had a goal and two assists and Max Gromoll picked up a goal and an assist to lead Hempfield (1-0) to a Class 2A win. Jonny Holtzman and Andrew Bryant also scored for Hempfield. Brogan Murphy and Preston Miller scored for Latrobe (1-1).
Mars 5, Avonworth 3 – Grant Weaver and Xaveir Bossola each had two goals and an assist and Jack Maloney netted the go-ahead goal for Mars (2-0) in a Class A win. Owen Stiers scored twice and Luke Ermlich also had a goal for Avonworth (1-1).
Meadville 4, Indiana 3 (SO) – Jake Walls had a goal and an assist and Ryan Yunik and Ethan Gredier also scored for Meadville (2-1) in a Class A shootout win. Joey Mains and Matthew Stone each had a goal and an assist and Michael Dubetsky also scored for Indiana (0-1-1), which scored twice in the third period to force overtime.
Moon 5, Hampton 1 – Eric Hartman had a goal and an assist and David Gallup, Clayton Foster, Philip Paladino and Tanner Desselle also scored for Moon (1-0) in a Class A win. Scott Cameron scored for Hampton (0-1).
North Allegheny 3, Mt. Lebanon 1 – Joey Mitchell scored twice, including the go-ahead goal late in the second period, and Ronan Gallagher also scored for North Allegheny (1-0) in a Class 3A win. Sean Hough scored for Mt. Lebanon (0-2).
Ringgold 6, Sewickley Academy 0 – Benito Pesi and Tanner Lucas each had a goal and an assist and Mason Ribnicky made 13 saves to earn the shutout for Ringgold (1-1) in Division 2. Jack Carlson made 53 saves for Sewickley Academy (0-2).
Tennis
WPIAL team playoffs – Umayma Trebak and Rebecca Dorenich won a three-set match at No. 2 doubles to help No. 6 Fox Chapel sweep No. 11 Mars in the Class 3A first round. Clara Drahnak, Eloise Johnson and Maya Vyas in singles and the team of Victoria Pfendler and Caroline Leland in doubles won in straight sets for the Foxes.
In the most closely contested first-round match, No. 3 North Allegheny got past No. 14 Peters Township, 3-2. Samantha Leeman at No. 2 singles and the doubles teams of Audrey Zheng and Rouxi Bai and Ella Mangene and Remi Hayward won for the Tigers.
In other matches, No.1 Shady Side Academy swept No. 16 Thomas Jefferson, 5-0, No. 5 Upper St. Clair defeated No. 12 Penn-Trafford, 4-1, No. 4 Mt. Lebanon beat No. 13 Hempfield, 5-0, No. 7 Latrobe took out No. 10 North Hills, 4-1, and No. 2 Bethel Park eliminated No. 15 Baldwin, 5-0.
The Class 3A semifinals and Class 2A first round are scheduled for Wednesday.
Golf
WPIAL semifinals – Elizabeth Forward (387), Freeport (397) and North Catholic (398) qualified at Champion Lakes and Shady Side Academy (393), Avonworth (397) and Beaver (401) moved on at Hickory Heights to finalize the field of six for the WPIAL finals Thursday at Cedarbrook Gold.
