Caitlyn O’Toole scored a hat trick, including two goals in the final seven minutes, to lead No. 2 Montour to a 4-1 victory over No. 4 South Fayette in a Section 4-3A girls soccer game Monday night.
Ariana Dillinger also scored for the Spartans (5-1, 4-0).
Helina Van Bibber scored for South Fayette (4-2, 2-2).
Bethel Park 1, Canon-McMillan 0 — Natalie DiGiomo scored to lift Bethel Park (4-2-1, 2-2-1) to a Section 2-4A win.
Oakland Catholic 4, West Mifflin 0 — Tori Calhoun scored three times, and Maggie Storti had the shutout, as Oakland Catholic (5-1, 4-0) won in Section 3-AAA.
Elizabeth Forward 6, Albert Gallatin 0 — Natalie Beinlich and Hayley Palmer each scored two goals as Elizabeth Forward (1-3, 1-2) won in Section 2-3A.
Chartiers-Houston 5, Geibel 1 — Ashley Horvath had two goals, and McKenzie Price scored her first career goal as Chartiers-Houston (5-3, 4-0) won in Section 2-A.
Bentworth 5, Charleroi 0 — Jocelyn Timlin had four goals, and Paige Marshalek added four assists as No. 4 Bentworth (5-1, 3-0) won in Section 2-A.
Penn-Trafford 7, Connellsville 0 —Jordan Lawrence, Kiley Dugan and Alexis Garia scored twice each, and McKenzie Septak added a goal for the Warriors (4-1, 4-0), who have outscored opponents 26-0 during a four-game winning streak.
Megan Giesey made 11 saves to notch the shutout.
Norwin 6, Allderdice 0 — Pitt recruit Lacey Bernick scored twice, and Paloma Swankler, Katelyn Kauffman, Kennedy Soliday and Lexi Gray added goals as No. 2 Norwin (5-1, 4-0) won in Section 3-4A.
Penn Hills 3, Latrobe 1 — Sierra Hankey had two goals and an assist to guide Penn Hills (2-4, 1-2) to a Section 3-4A victory over visiting Latrobe (1-5, 1-3).
Mars 6, Franklin Regional 0 — Anna Kurpakus, Ellie Coffield, Caroline Wroblewski, Taylor Hamlett and Kara Rocco scored as No. 1 Mars (4-0, 4-0) beat visiting Franklin Regional (2-4, 1-4) in Section 1-3A.
Waynesburg 6, Mt. Pleasant 1 — Rhea Kijowski scored twice, and Kylie Sinn, Kaley Pell and Elise and Brenna Benke scored as No. 2 Waynesburg (4-2, 3-1) beat Mt. Pleasant (4-3, 2-3) in a Section 3-2A game.
South Park 6, Southmoreland 0 — South Park improved to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in section play with a Section 2-3A victory over Southmoreland (1-5, 0-5).
Hempfield 4, Ligonier Valley 2 — Taylor Hall, Sabrina Pettinato, Sydney Patrick and Kasey Ketter scored as Hempfield (2-2) won a nonsection game. Olivia Anto and Morgan Lista scored for the Rams.
Deer Lakes 4, Highlands 1 — Abigail Boulos scored two goals and added one assist as No. 5 Deer Lakes rolled to a Section 2-AA win over Highlands (2-4, 1-3). Lily Litrun and Nina Lafko scored one goal each for Deer Lakes (6-1, 4-0). Gabby Weber recorded three saves in the win for the Lancers.
Kiski Area 2, Indiana 1 — Reagan Frederick had a goal and an assist to lead Class 3A No. 3 Kiski Area (5-1, 5-0) to a Section 1 win at Indiana (4-2-1, 2-2). Christa Palla had a goal for the Cavaliers and Faith Andree had an assist. Kiski Area goalie Emily Orris made five saves.
Freeport 4, East Allegheny 1 — Emma Check scored two goals as Freeport defeated East Allegheny (1-3-1, 0-3-1) in Section 2-AA play. Sidney Shemanski and Abby Bastaja scored one goal and one assist each for Freeport (4-2, 3-1).
Plum 3, Trinity 0 – Gina Proviano recorded a hat trick to help Plum (5-1, 3-1) knock off Class AAA No. 5 Trinity (5-2, 3-2) in a Section 3 victory. Sophia Vargesko and Laura Pearlman had assists for the Mustangs.
Boys soccer
Norwin 2, Connellsville 0 — Carter Breen scored twice to lift No. 5 Norwin (7-1, 5-0) to a Section 3-4A win. Kyle Krotec made five saves to earn the shutout.
Belle Vernon 5, Uniontown 0 — In Section 3-3A, Aaron Brown scored twice, and Daniel Sassak, Markello Apodiakos and Hunter Meade added goals to lift Belle Vernon (6-1-1, 3-1-1) to victory.
Keystone Oaks 1, West Mifflin 0 – Gio Valforte scored on a penalty kick to lead Keystone Oaks (6-0) to a nonsection win.
Girls volleyball
Knoch 3, Armstrong 0 — In a matchup of No. 1 vs. No. 2, the top team held serve.
Kennedy Christy, Hannah Rowe and Skylar Burkett recorded nine kills apiece to help Class AAA No. 1 Knoch beat No. 2 Armstrong in a nonsection girls volleyball match Monday night.
Kerrie Kirkpatrick had 14 service points for the Knights (6-0), the defending WPIAL and PIAA champion.
Fox Chapel 3, Penn-Trafford 0 — Jessica Michel had 11 kills to help Fox Chapel (3-2) sweep Penn-Trafford in a nonsection match. Megan Friday and Lauren Himmel added five kills apiece.
Hampton 3, Deer Lakes 2 — Kaylee Sciubba recorded 11 kills and 15 digs, but Deer Lakes lost to Hampton in nonsection play. Cameron Simurda recorded six kills and 15 service points, Mia Jarnot recorded 19 digs and six service points and Renee Robson added 21 assists and 13 service points for Deer Lakes (3-2).
