Alex Gaetano scored the winning goal in the second overtime to send Shaler to a 2-1 victory over Mars (6-4-1, 4-1-1) in Section 1-3A boys soccer Thursday night. Alex Martin Adler also scored for the Titans (6-3, 4-2).

Avonworth 2, Beaver 1 – Nate Kline had a goal and an assist and Calder Mahan also scored as Avonworth (8-1, 6-1) handed Beaver its first loss in Section 2-2A. Anthony Furda scored for the Bobcats (7-1, 7-1).

Beaver County Christian 4, Sewickley Academy 0 – Kian Wilsey, Jonah Bosch, Liam Birchler and Zach Stephens scored to lead Beaver County Christian (8-0, 5-0) to a Section 1-A win over Sewickley Academy (6-2, 4-1).

Bethel Park 3, Ringgold 1 – Xavier Jackson had two goals and an assist and Youssef Benrabia added a goal and an assist to power Bethel Park (6-1-1, 6-0-1) past Ringgold (4-4, 3-4) in Section 2-3A. James Lytle scored for the Rams.

Brentwood 7, Bishop Canevin 1 – Mohammed Ismael had a hat trick and Palsen Tamang and Bryan Corea scored two goals apiece as Brentwood (4-4-1, 2-2-1) evened its record with a Section 3-A win over Bishop Canevin (2-5, 2-3).

Butler 2, Pine-Richland 1 (OT) – Jackson Stewart scored the game winning goal in overtime for Butler (4-5, 1-4) in a Section 3-4A victory over Pine-Richland (4-6-1, 1-4). Jude Perhacs also scored for the Golden Tornado.

Charleroi 3, Mt. Pleasant 0 – Adolph Noel, Blake Pendo and Dylan Klinger scored to lead Charleroi (7-2, 6-0) past Mt. Pleasant (7-3, 6-1) in a matchup of teams undefeated in Section 4-2A play.

Chartiers Valley 2, Montour 1 (OT) – Sam Miller scored the overtime winner and Moises Calzedia also had a goal for Chartiers Valley (4-3, 4-2) in a Section 4-3A win. Tyler Fritztius scored for Montour (5-6, 3-3).

Deer Lakes 14, Leechburg 2 — Fourteen players scored goals for Deer Lakes (9-2, 7-0) in a Section 1-2A win. Goal scorers were Nolan Adams, Cuyler Crim, Jake Orseno, Kyle Farmer, Collin Rodgers, Andrew O’Brien, Peyton Kushon, Larry Rommes, Ryan Liggett, Cameron Adams, Keegan Landsberg, Zane Spence, Wesley Boyle and Ty Mazur. Mason Scitticatt and Carson McDermott scored for Leechburg (0-9-1, 0-6-1).

East Allegheny 2, Ligonier Valley 1 – Tymere Sherrill-Coulverson scored both goals for East Allegheny (1-6, 1-6) in a Section 3-2A win. Michael Vargulish-Garver scored for Ligonier Valley (2-6, 2-4).

Fox Chapel 1, North Allegheny 0 – Rocco Didomenico scored the decisive goal in the first half, leading Fox Chapel (8-1, 5-0) past North Allegheny (5-3-2, 2-2-1) in Section 3-4A.

Franklin Regional 9, Uniontown 0 – Liam Greenbaum scored a hat trick, Aiden Alexander added two goals and an assist and Ethan Falvo also scored twice to lead Franklin Regional (9-1, 4-1) past Uniontown (2-7, 0-5) in Section 3-3A. Fabrizzio Costa had a goal and two assists and Cruise Lamanna added two assists for the Panthers.

Freeport 5, Burrell 0 – Ryan Sutara scored a pair of goals while Spencer Valasek, Xavier DeWitt and Caleb Passarelli each tallied a goal for Freeport (6-3-1, 3-3-1) in a Section 1-2A shutout win against Burrell (2-7, 2-5). Henry Good kept the clean sheet for the Yellowjackets.

Hampton 5, Knoch 0 – Mason Hall scored twice and Carson Colvin, Xavier Ware and Andrew Craig each added a goal for Hampton (7-1-1, 5-0-1) in a Section 1-3A shutout of Knoch (2-6-1, 1-4-1). Gavin Guinn recorded the shutout for the Talbots.

Latrobe 1, Penn-Trafford 0 – Pietro Bonandi scored the winning goal, leading Latrobe (5-4, 4-1) to a Section 3-3A win over Penn-Trafford (5-4, 2-3).

Laurel Highlands 8, Albert Gallatin 0 – Cole Radcliffe scored five goals, Roman George had two and Jett Yauger added one to lead Laurel Highlands (6-3, 4-3) to a Section 2-3A win over Albert Gallatin (1-8, 0-7).

Moon 6, Blackhawk 0 – Olek Sushko scored two goals and Hayden Dunn, Laercio de Sousa, Charlie Weiler and Vinnie Munizza added a goal apiece to lead Moon (7-3, 6-0) to a Section 4-3A win over Blackhawk (2-8,1-5).

OLSH 3, Aquinas Academy 2 – Owen Minzer, Brady Hernandez and Andre Kolocouris scored first-half goals and OLSH (7-0, 5-0) held on to win a matchup of teams undefeated in Section 3-A play. Marco Anselmino scored both goals for Aquinas Academy (6-3, 4-1).

Peters Township 8, Woodland Hills 0 – Anthony Maiello recorded a hat trick to power Peters Township (8-0, 5-0) in a Section 2-4A win against Woodland Hills (3-4, 2-3). Colin Froelich, Nathan Matuszewski, Ralph Bush, Cam Glass and Cole Celedonia each added a goal for Peters.

Riverview 6, St. Joseph 0 – Ben Radelet, Mason Bodnar, Tristan Groenvynck, Liam Ulrich, Greg Morse and Milo Thomas each scored a goal for Riverview (5-4-1, 2-2-1) in a Section 4-A win over St. Joseph (1-5, 1-4).

Seneca Valley 1, North Hills 0 – Owen Eastgate scored the winning goal and Chase Good preserved the shutout to lift Seneca Valley (9-1, 4-1) past North Hills (6-4-1, 1-3-1) in Section 3-4A.

Serra Catholic 3, Carlynton 2 – Will Freiwald scored the game-winning goal on a free kick to lift Serra Catholic (3-6, 1-4) past Carlynton (0-7-2, 0-4-1) in Section 3-A. Nate Petty and Mataias Kostley each added a goal for the Eagles.

Seton LaSalle 4, Elizabeth Forward 1 – Larry Brown III, Mason Foster, Tyler Kovalcik and Gavin McMahon scored to lead Seton LaSalle (9-1, 6-1) to a Section 3-2A win. Aiden Davis scored for Elizabeth Forward (6-4, 5-2).

South Allegheny 2, Steel Valley 0 – Brayden Hernandez scored a goal and added an assist while Jacob Frum tallied a goal as South Allegheny (3-7, 2-5) blanked Steel Valley (1-7, 1-6) in Section 3-2A. Revan Sheader kept a clean sheet for the Gladiators.

Thomas Jefferson 11, McKeesport 0 – Owen Householder and Logan Barron each scored a hat trick and Evan Olson added a brace to power Thomas Jefferson (9-0-1, 6-0-1) to a Section 2-3A victory against McKeesport (1-6, 1-6). Gavin Kern, Tiago Ochoa and Carter Merrell also scored for the Jaguars.

Trinity 1, South Fayette 0 – John Garcia scored on a first-half free kick and Joel Young secured the shutout to lead Trinity (5-3, 5-2) past South Fayette (2-6, 2-5) in Section 2-3A.

Trinity Christian 2, Jeannette 0 – Cammy Wright and Judah Schafer scored for Trinity Christian (4-5, 3-2) in a Section 4-A win over Jeannette (2-7, 0-5).

West Allegheny 3, Baldwin 0 – Harrison Murray, Anthony Mimna and Aaron Bouch scored for West Allegheny (4-4, 4-2) in a Section 4-3A win over Baldwin (1-8, 1-5).

Yough 3, Southmoreland 2 (OT) – Noah Jurcevich had two goals and Brycen Watkins also scored to send Yough (6-2, 5-1) to a Section 4-2A overtime win over Southmoreland (4-5, 3-3).

Girls soccer

Bentworth 2, Ringgold 1 – Brielle Dillon scored both goals for Bentworth (9-1-1) in a nonsection tilt with Ringgold (2-5-1).

Carlynton 7, Serra Catholic 0 – Riley Mauro and Shania Purdom scored two goals apiece and Gigi Choate, Bella D’Antonio and Mary Crawford added a goal apiece to lead Carlynton (4-3-1, 4-2) to a Section 3-A win over Serra Catholic (4-4, 2-4).

Fox Chapel 3, Seneca Valley 2 – Emily McKee scored twice before Mattea Basile provided the game-winning goal, leading Fox Chapel (8-1) to a nonsection win over Seneca Valley (6-2-2) in a matchup of first-place teams.

Freeport 11, Highlands 0 – Camryn Woods had two goals and an assist, Natalia Urik and Alyssa Cooper added a goal and an assist each and Alyssa Alcorn and Sophia Crawford combined on the shutout for Freeport (8-1) in a nonsection win over Highlands. Cece Schlegel, Brinley Sullivan, Maggie Conger, Marcy Mattivi, Makenna Woodside, Alyssa Lasko and Sophia Conger also scored for the Yellowjackets.

Greensburg Salem 3, Armstrong 2 (OT) – Laila McDade scored the game winner and Eden Wilson deposited a pair of goals as Greensburg Salem (4-6) defeated Armstrong (3-5-1) in nonsection play. Addison Mills and Lucy Wolfe scored for the River Hawks.

McKeesport 14, Carrick 0 – MaKenna Zuber scored twice to lead McKeesport (2-6) to a nonsection win. Gabriella Graham, Dannah Sebelia, Cimone Scruggs, Ella Kristen, Ella Dellapenna, McKenna Minkle, Asia Richie, Adriana Allison, Arianna Garcia, Eleanor Homer, Mahiya Brown and Maggie Badstibner also scored for the Tigers.

Riverview 5, Chartiers-Houston 1 – Mary Quinlan recorded a hat trick and Hannah Hudack added a pair of goals as Riverview (5-1) beat Chartiers-Houston (4-3-1) in nonsection play.

Girls volleyball

Beaver 3, Ambridge 0 – Kailyn Connelly had 11 kills, Lanie Malobabich had six aces and five kills and Aubrey Bumblis added 11 digs as Beaver (8-0, 4-0) defeated Ambridge (2-5, 1-3) in straight sets for a Section 4-3A win. Kayden Blinn had 24 assists for the Bobcats.

Bentworth 3, Charleroi 2 – Addison Pysh had 16 kills, Sofia Gaussa added 13 and Mora Lindley finished with nine as Bentworth (4-5, 1-5) edged out Charleroi (0-7, 0-5) in a Section 3-2A match.

Brownsville 3, Burgettstown 0 – AiJanae Foster had nine kills, Abigayle Thomas and Ashley Evanchak each produced eight digs, Emma Leigh Bailey had eight assists and Nataya Williams followed with six assists as Brownsville (8-1, 5-1) swept Burgettstown (3-6, 0-5) in Section 3-2A.

Frazier 3, Trinity Christian 1 – Allie Monack had 18 kills and 12 assists to lead Frazier (6-2, 4-0) to a Section 4-A win over Trinity Christian (4-3, 1-2). Morgan Fisher dished out 17 assists, Grace Polkabla had 11 digs and Emme Travalena added seven kills and five blocks for the Commodores.

Greensburg Salem 3, McKeesport 0 – Grace Hayden had six kills and five digs and Patty Redinger served up six aces to lead Greensburg Salem (7-0, 5-0) past McKeesport (2-5, 0-5) in Section 5-3A.

Hempfield 3, Plum 0 – Lauren Howard had 15 kills and Preslee Horchak dished out 26 assists to lead Hempfield (5-2, 3-1) past Plum (4-3, 1-3) in Section 3-4A. Jillian Sowers served four aces and Nella Bompiani had seven blocks for the Spartans.

Mapletown 3, Jefferson-Morgan 1 – Treslee Weston had 18 kills, Makenna Lotspeich produced 13 digs, Rowan Eisiminger added 11 digs and Marley Shiflett dished out 26 assists as Mapletown (3-5, 1-3) beat Jefferson-Morgan (3-5, 1-3) in Section 3-1A. For the Rockets, Beautiful Medlen had nine kills, Mia Bertagnolli handed out 15 assists and Emilee Bazzoli had 14 digs.

New Brighton 3, Northgate 0 – Ameera Walker had four kills, Elise Gerrich served six aces, Mya Beauford gave out 11 assists and Chloe Huddy finished with five blocks to help New Brighton (3-5, 3-3) past Northgate (0-7, 0-6) in Section 1-2A.

St. Joseph 3, Riverview 0 – Kenzie Jones produced 19 digs, 19 kills and a pair of aces while Jillian Bloch had 21 digs to lead St. Joseph (5-4, 3-1) to a Section 1-1A win over Riverview (0-6, 0-3).
