Simone Sharpless had a goal and an assist to lead North Catholic to a 2-0 victory over Burrell (9-3-1, 6-2) in a matchup of playoff teams in Section 2-2A girls soccer. Frankie Liberati also scored and Jules Tralongo recorded the shutout for North Catholic (9-3, 5-2).

Allderdice 1, North Hills 0 – Shira Levy scored the winning goal and Lital Friedman recorded her first career shutout as Allderdice (7-5) defeated North Hills (2-9-1) in a Section 3-4A exhibition game.

Beaver 7, Hopewell 1 – Alaina Mollura and Mia Furda each had two goals and two assists and Ana Hahn also scored twice to lead Beaver (7-6-1, 4-3-1) past Hopewell (0-9, 0-7) in Section 3-2A. Jocie Biela added a goal for the Bobcats.

Belle Vernon 1, Ringgold 0 – Jordyn McDowell scored for Belle Vernon (8-4-1, 6-2-1) in a Section 1-2A win over Ringgold (4-7-1, 4-4-1).

Bentworth 17, California 0 – Brielle Dillion led with three goals and Alex Jackson followed with two goals for Bentworth (11-1-1, 7-0) in a Section 2-A win over California (1-7, 0-7). Megan Keturakis, Madelyn Johns, Emme Orsatti, Bella Moyer, Joelie Conkle, Jesse Laskey, Brina Orsatti, Camille Sneith, Joa Johns, Meredith Allender, Zoey Gonglik and Brooke Leonetti also scored for the Bearcats.

Carlynton 3, Freedom 2 – Bella D’Antonio converted a penalty kick and Mary Crawford and Riley Mauro also scored to lead Carlynton (6-4-1) to a nonsection win over Freedom (4-6).

Central Valley 4, Ambridge 1 – Aubrey Grater had a hat trick and Nina Guandolo also scored to lead Central Valley (7-2-1, 5-1-1) to a Section 3-2A win. Nadia Benkowski scored for Ambridge (4-7, 1-6).

Chartiers-Houston 5, Brownsville 1 – Ali Wingard scored four goals and Grace Littlecott added another to send Chartiers-Houston (6-3-1, 4-2-1) to a Section 2-A win. Gloria Kovscek scored for Brownsville (8-3-1, 4-2-1).

Fox Chapel 9, Obama Academy 0 – Emily McKee had a hat trick and Lily McLaughlin added a pair of goals to help Fox Chapel (11-1) past Obama Academy (2-10) in a Section 1-3A exhibition match.

Franklin Regional 7, Indiana 0 – Allyssa Velasquez and Jocy Bertagna had two goals each, Grace Copeland, Ella Copeland and Keira Pokrzywinski also scored and Caitlyn Chinchock had two assists for Franklin Regional (10-3, 7-2) in a Section 4-3A win over Indiana (1-11, 1-7). Addison Ayres, Alaina McGrath and Sofia Ramirez combined on the shutout.

Freeport 12, Valley 0 – Nia DiSanti scored two goals for Freeport (10-1, 6-0) in a Section 2-2A win over Valley (0-8, 0-7). Natalia Urik, Makenna Woodside, Elena Jenkins, Madison Harmon, Alyssa Pflugh, Macey Edwards, Maggie Conger, Pavana Bhat, Kaydence Kronen and Marcy Mattivi also scored for the Yellowjackets.

Kiski Area 2, Elizabeth Forward 0 – Addison Buffone and Marlee Koziatek scored and Bria Bires preserved the shutout to send Kiski Area (6-5, 6-3) past Elizabeth Forward (5-5, 4-5) in Section 4-3A.

Latrobe 10, Woodland Hills 0 – Geli Dent led with four goals, Emerson Shine followed with three and Mackenzie Kubistek, Annalyse Bauer and Ella Plundo added a goal apiece for Latrobe (6-5, 5-2) in a Section 1-4A win over Woodland Hills (0-8, 0-7).

Mars 3, Gateway 0 – Katie Blake scored two goals and Liv Halliday added one to lead Mars (9-3, 5-2) to a Section 1-3A win over Gateway (3-7, 2-5).

McKeesport 7, Brashear 0 – Ella Dellapenna had a hat trick and Makenna Zuber, Dannah Sebelia, Gabriella Graham and Mahiya Brown also scored in a nonsection win for McKeesport (4-7).

Montour 5, Blackhawk 0 – Irelynn Hobbs scored a hat trick and McKenzie Hall and Joslin Heckathorne each had a goal to lead Montour (9-2, 7-1) past Blackhawk (2-7-2, 2-5-2) in Section 2-3A.

Moon 6, Bethel Park 0 – Kendall Dydek scored two goals and Emma Jones, Quinn Arnold, Junie Shaver and Hailey Hatton added a goal apiece for Moon (11-1, 9-0) in a Section 2-3A win over Bethel Park (1-11, 1-7).

Norwin 8, Armstrong 0 – Nicole Bown and Leesia Phetsomphou scored two goals apiece and Hannah Amantea, Cam Reed, Libby Link and Siena Ali also had a goal each for Norwin (10-2, 8-0) in a Section 1-4A win over Armstrong (6-6-1, 3-4).

Penn-Trafford 12, Hempfield 0 – Ellie Lebe had two goals and three assists, Emilie Oslosky had a hat trick and added an assist and Tori Yurt scored twice to power Penn-Trafford (7-5-1, 6-2) past Hempfield (2-11, 1-6) in Section 1-4A. Aurelia Solomon and Caroline Lhota each had a goal and an assist and Gabriella Geary, Mia Mastroianni and Morgan Sperduto also scored.

Peters Township 8, Connellsville 0 – Julie Spergel scored four goals and Sarah Schweiger, Brynn Busch, Bailey Lutz and Emory Van Ackeren added a goal apiece for Peters Township (8-1, 6-0) in a Section 2-4A win over Connellsville (3-8-1, 1-6).

Pine-Richland 1, North Allegheny 0 – Emme Kline converted a penalty kick late in the second half and Shea Best preserved the shutout as Pine-Richland (11-1-1, 4-1-1) blanked North Allegheny (9-3-2, 3-2-1) in Section 3-4A.

Plum 8, West Mifflin 0 – Gianna Revetta scored two goals, Brenna McLaughlin had a goal and an assist and Malayna Smith, Sophia Robinson and Lily Deluca combined on the shutout to lead Plum (10-1, 9-1) past West Mifflin (3-9, 0-8) in Section 4-3A. Olivia Bigger, Keirstin Curry, Brooke Mathieu, Carley Campbell and Kenley Babilon also scored for the Mustangs.

Seneca Valley 3, Butler 0 – Karly Majeski scored twice and Cassie Leonard added a goal to lead Seneca Valley (8-2-2, 5-0) past Butler (5-6-1, 0-5-1) in Section 3-4A.

Seton LaSalle 3, Aquinas Academy 1 – Kennedy Bakota scored a hat trick to lift Seton LaSalle (9-2, 7-1) to a Section 3-A win over Aquinas Academy (4-6, 4-5).

Sewickley Academy 7, Serra Catholic 1 – Claire Karsman scored four goals and Emma Eannarino added a pair to lead Sewickley Academy (10-1, 8-0) past Serra Catholic (4-6, 2-6) in Section 3-A.

Shady Side Academy 1, Knoch 0 – Sarah Kushnir scored the winning goal to lift Shady Side Academy (4-7, 3-4) past Knoch (2-9, 1-6) in Section 2-2A.

Shaler 9, Penn Hills 1 – Naudia Zotter had a hat trick for Shaler (7-3-1, 4-3) in a Section 1-3A win over Penn Hills (1-10, 0-8).

Southmoreland 8, Ligonier Valley 1 – Hannah Conn had a hat trick for Southmoreland (6-6-1, 4-3) in a Section 4-2A win over Ligonier Valley (2-10, 1-6). Addy Jordan, Juliet Ice, Bailey Mains, Caiya Brozeski and Ashley Seder also scored for the Scotties. Siri Kuhns scored for the Rams.

South Park 12, Steel Valley 0 – Reese Recker led with a hat trick and Arianna Beck, Mady Serechin, Ana Krasneski and Avery Rispoli followed with two goals apiece for South Park (14-0, 9-0) in a Section 1-2A win over Steel Valley (1-9, 1-7). Hayley Bennett also scored for the Eagles.

Springdale 1, Winchester Thurston 0 – Lacey Shondeck scored the winning goal, assisted by Hailey Marchlewski, and Genevieve Conklin earned the shutout in goal as Springdale (7-1-1, 6-0-1) blanked Winchester Thurston (6-6-1, 3-3-1) in a matchup of top teams in Section 4-A.

Waynesburg 6, Beth-Center 0 – Kolbi Rastoka had a hat trick and Emily Rafferty, Ava DiAlesandro, Addie Cowell added a goal apiece for Waynesburg (7-3, 4-3) in a Section 2-A win over Beth-Center (4-7, 1-6).

West Allegheny 4, Trinity 0 – Ella Smith, Kylie Holtz, Vesna Lazic and Jocelyn Rosborough scored to lead West Allegheny (7-5, 6-2) to a Section 2-3A win over Trinity (2-7-2, 1-7-1).

Yough 9, East Allegheny 0 – Daisy Miller had two goals and three assists and Kate Slavick also scored twice to lead Yough (6-6, 4-3) past East Allegheny (0-9, 0-7) in Section 4-2A. Leah Slavick, Gillian Baloga, Britany Baumeister, Mya Kuttler and Izzy Pieniadz also scored.

Boys soccer

Allderdice 3, Penn-Trafford 1 – Michael Bishop had a goal and an assist and Ethan Voight-Cherna and Niv Friedman also scored to power Allderdice (9-4) to a Section 3-3A exhibition win over Penn-Trafford (7-5).

Brentwood 6, McKeesport 0 – Mohammed Ismael scored two goals and Palsen Tamang, Bryan Correa, Lucas Castellano and Mohammed Abdullah added a goal apiece to lead Brentwood (6-4-1) to a nonsection win over McKeesport (1-10).

Charleroi 3, Waynesburg 1 – Adolph Noel scored twice and Otis McIntyre had a goal and an assist to lead Charleroi (9-2, 8-0) past Waynesburg (3-6-1, 3-5-1) in Section 4-2A.

Laurel Highlands 5, Uniontown 0 – Chase Hall had two goals and an assist, Cole Radcliffe also scored twice, Jack Narin added a goal and Dan O’Neil made four saves for the shutout as Laurel Highlands (8-5) picked up a nonsection win over Uniontown (3-10).

Norwin 1, Central Catholic 0 (OT) – Tyler Schultheis scored the winning goal, assisted by Ryan Schoemer, and Reed Hoyle had the shutout in goal as Norwin (6-5-2, 5-1-1) beat Central Catholic (7-3-2, 3-2-2) in Section 1-4A.

Southmoreland 2, Greensburg Salem 1 – Hunter Ryan and Ben Schaeffer scored a goal apiece to lead Southmoreland (5-8, 4-5) past Greensburg Salem (4-9, 3-6) in a Section 4-2A win.

Avonworth 9, West Allegheny 1 – Cooper Powell had a hat trick and Luke Ermlich and Linus Jesionowski each finished with a goal and two assists in a Class A win for Avonworth (1-0). John Wineland scored for West Allegheny (0-1).

Burrell 9, Sewickley Academy 0 – Jared Wall had two goals and two assists, Dante Taliani added two goals and an assist and Alyx Hatajik collected a goal and three assists to lead Burrell (1-0) past Sewickley Academy (0-1) in Division 2. Madi George made seven saves to earn the shutout.

Deer Lakes 4, Elizabeth Forward 3 – Mason Cervone scored twice and Charlie Stefanik and Jaydin Eisenman each added a goal as Deer Lakes (1-0) picked up a Division 2 win. Blake Hvozdik scored twice Cam Thompson also scored for Elizabeth Forward (0-1).

Mars 7, South Park 0 – Xavier Bossola scored twice and Adam Goul made 13 saves to lead Mars (1-0) past South Park (0-1) in Class A.

North Hills 4, Chartiers Valley 3 – Brady Peterson scored the overtime winner, Christopher Muschar had two goals and two assists and Cody Wittmer also had a goal to lead North Hills (1-0) to a Class A win. Joey Deangelis had a goal and an assist for Chartiers Valley (0-0-1).

Penn-Trafford 5, Norwin 0 – Jordan Tucek had two goals and an assist and Tyler Funk made 30 saves to lead Penn-Trafford (1-0) to a Class 2A win over Norwin (0-1). Brock Bienemann added a goal and an assist.

Quaker Valley 4, Meadville 0 – Jace Vasbinder and Kieran Cain each had a goal and an assist and Ian Lorang made 23 saves to record the shutout as Quaker Valley (1-0) beat Meadville (0-1) in Class A.

South Fayette 7, Mt. Lebanon 2 – Nathaniel Keller had two goals and two assists and Dylan Mach and Mikhail Lobanov each added a goal and an assist to spark South Fayette (1-0) to a Class 3A win. Cameron Mayer and William White scored for Mt. Lebanon (0-1).

Thomas Jefferson 12, Fox Chapel 0 – Vincenzo Casamassa and Cam Lorenzi had hat tricks and Lucas Blose collected two goals and two assists to lead Thomas Jefferson (1-0) past Fox Chapel (0-1) in Class 3A. Ben Balducci made 16 saves to earn the shutout for TJ.

Girls volleyball

Frazier 3, Jefferson-Morgan 0 – Maddie Salisbury had 20 kills and 10 assists and Mia West added six kills and three blocks to lead Frazier (8-3) to a nonsection win. Allie Monack dished out 23 assists and Addison Hiles had nine digs for the Commodores. Beautiful Medlen had two kills and four blocks and Bailey Cervone added two kills and three blocks for Jefferson-Morgan (3-7).

Ligonier Valley 3, East Allegheny 0 – Rylee Monticue had nine kills, seven assists and three aces and Marlee Miller finished with seven kills, 10 assists and three aces to lead Ligonier Valley (4-8) past East Allegheny (1-11) in a nonsection match.
