Highlands boys soccer coach Brad Walker has a hearing Wednesday before the WPIAL Board of Directors to appeal the suspension mandated last week.

The WPIAL has threatened to ban the soccer team from the playoffs unless the school suspends Walker three games. The discipline came after a Highlands player was ejected and suspended by the school for “unacceptable language” directed at the officials, WPIAL executive director Tim O'Malley said last week. The board believed Walker “permitted it to happen,” O'Malley said.

The WPIAL cannot suspend coaches directly but can leverage who qualifies for the postseason.
