The Freeport Yellowjackets' Girls' Volleyball team had been running roughshod over all of its competition going into the return match with the Knoch Knights.

The two squads met back on September 10, and the Yellowjackets embarrassed the Knights, 3-0, on Knoch's own home court.

The Knights had quite a bit of time to think about revenge since then, and they jumped on the unbeaten Yellowjackets in Game 1, winning 25-21, on huge kills from Celina Sanks and Mary Zellhart. The Jackets pulled to within one at 22-21, but could get no further than that.

The Knights jumped on Freeport early in Game 2, going on a 5-0 run after the Jackets scored the first point of the game, but Freeport scratched and clawed their way back as Zoe Pawlak and Alexis Schrecengost started to establish themselves as the killers.  Knoch made them earn every point inthat game as they did not let Freeport get too far ahead but in the end, the Jackets pulled out the 27-25 win to even the match at a game a piece.

The momentum started to shift Freeport's way in Game 3 as Pawlak and Schrecengost contnued their dominance, beating the Knights decisively, 25-20.

Game 4 was also one that could have gone either way, but the Jackets had a game point, but they could ot seal the deal as Knoch reeled off 3 straight points to take Game 4, 26-24.

The fifth and deciding game saw quite a bit of back-and-forth in terms of service and points from both sides, but the Knights managed to stay one point ahead of Freeport throughout the game, and the Knoch Knights knocked (pun unintended) the Freeport Yellowjackets from the ranks of the unbeaten, winning the 5th game by 15-12 tally, and the match, 3-2.

Both Freeport and Knoch are firmly entrenched in the #1 and #2 slots in section 4 respectively with the Mars Planets continuing to nip at their heels.  Freeport is now 8-1 in the section while Knoch pulls to within a half-game at 7-1.
