Hopewell hired Rochester assistant Matt Weiss as its new football coach, the school announced Monday.

Weiss, a Rochester graduate, coached at his alma mater for the past 10 years. The Rams were WPIAL Class A runners-up this past season.

At Hopewell, Weiss replaces Mark Washington, who resigned after four seasons. Hopewell went 13-26 under Washington, including 6-21 against conference opponents.
