It’s officially spring, at least for high school athletes.
Monday, with afternoon temperatures near 40, was the first day across Pennsylvania that spring sports teams were allowed to practice. Despite the chilly air, some teams took advantage of the weather and ventured outdoors.
The WPIAL spring sports are baseball, softball, lacrosse, track and field, boys tennis and boys volleyball.
Teams can scrimmage Saturday.
The first regular-season matches for boys tennis are March 12. The other sports start their schedules March 23.
The weather may not seem like it, but the 1st day of spring sports is officially here! @cahs_baseball @Cville_Softball @CAHS_Tennis @_cvilletrack pic.twitter.com/VJoEBUbFbS
