The Jeannette girls soccer team did something Wednesday night it had not done since 2019: It won a game.

Lindsay Jordan and Grace Stein each scored two goals as the Jayhawks defeated Valley, 4-1, in a nonsection game in New Kensington.

Jeannette dumped a winless streak that had reached 52 games. The girls celebrated by dumping the water cooler on coach Billy Bryant.

“It’s been way too long,” Bryant said of the team’s last win. “The girls were ecstatic. They were pleased that all of their hard work has paid off. Feeling proud for sure.”

The Jayhawks tied Valley, 1-1, on Sept. 11, so they were feeling confident heading into the rematch.

The four goals were the most the team has scored in at least four years.
