Jeannette’s Jordan Taylor earns statewide scoring honor

He plays for the highest-scoring boys soccer team in the WPIAL and is one of the highest-scoring players in the country.

That made Jordan Taylor an easy choice for a national honor.

Taylor, a senior standout at Jeannette, was named the United Soccer Coaches/MaxPreps High School State Player of the Week for Pennsylvania.

The award is for games played between Sept. 4-10.

Taylor had 11 goals in a three-game span, including seven in a 21-0 win over Valley.

For the season, the forward has 28 goals, the most in the WPIAL so far this season.

Jeannette is 6-3 overall and 4-3 in Section 2-2A.

The Jayhawks have found the net 76 times for the league lead. That is an average of 8.4 goals per game.
