Dylan Swarmer played travel ball this summer in a Youngstown, Ohio, league. Turns out he’ll stay there a bit longer.

The recent Knoch graduate committed Thursday to play baseball for Youngstown State University.

Swarmer, a catcher, originally committed to play at Lackawanna Junior College but changed his call when Youngstown State offered. He played this summer for the Baird Brothers baseball team, which won championships in the Youngstown Class B league, National Amateur Baseball Federation Senior Division World Series and Pony Palomino East Zone tournament.

A three-year starter at Knoch, Swarmer drove in 20 runs as a senior to help the Knights defend their Section 1-4A championship.
