Latest Ligonier Valley Hall of fame class announced

Ligonier Valley announced its 2026 athletics hall of fame class.

The latest inductees include four athletes, a team, a coach and a contributor.

The hall of fame honors those who played or contributed at Ligonier, Laurel Valley and Ligonier Valley high schools. Laurel Valley and Ligonier formed Ligonier Valley with a merger in 1966.

The new hall of famers are:

Athletes

• Jack Keslar, Ligonier Valley (Class of 1980), football, wrestling, track & field

• Scott Moffett, Ligonier Valley (1976), track & field, basketball

• Hannah (Miller) Shepherd, Laurel Valley (2010), track & field, cross country

• Scott Wakefield, Laurel Valley (2000), wrestling, football

Coach

• Don Smith, Ligonier Valley boys track & field

Team

• 1981 Laurel Valley boys basketball (PIAA runner-up)

Contributor

• Donna Bennett (more than 40 years of service to LVSD athletics)

The induction ceremony will be 5:30 p.m. April 11 at The Barn in Ligonier. Tickets are $60 each. Cash or check, made out to LVSD, can be sent to the athletic office at 40 Springer Road, Ligonier, PA 15658.

New this year will be a hall of fame 5K race, set for 8 a.m. April 12. Entry fee is $20 for adults and $10 for students. Registration: gingerbreadtiming.com.
