Latrobe blanks Lower Burrell in 1st game of American Legion District 31 semifinals

Levi Moser threw a two-hit shutout with two walks and three strikeouts as top-seeded Latrobe defeated Lower Burrell, 3-0, in Game 1 of a District 31 American Legion baseball best-of-three semifinal series Saturday.

Game 2 is set for 1 p.m. Sunday at ABC Field.

Cayden McCune went 2 for 3 with an RBI, Cooper Basciano went 2 for 3 with a run scored and Cole Short singled and drove in a run for the Jethawks. Adam Scheftic and Nolan Brouwer had base hits for Lower Burrell.

Hempfield East 8, Bushy Run 2 – Dom Rosensteel went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs to lead Hempfield East Post 981 past Bushy Run in Game 1 of a District 31 semifinals series. Game 2 is set for 5 p.m. Sunday at Penn-Trafford.

Max Bowin went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs, Tyler Martin went 2 for 3 with a double, run scored and RBI and Cameron Elder went 2 for 3 with two runs scored for Hempfield East. Josh Cayer allowed two runs and struck out seven in five innings to pick up the win

Brody Hoffman went 2 for 3 with a double and Brandon Roher doubled and drove in a run for Bushy Run.
