Alex Tatsch spent a perfect late-summer day in Morgantown.
He looked around a college campus, watched the Backyard Brawl and came home with a souvenir: a scholarship offer.
West Virginia extended an offer to the Latrobe junior football standout Saturday, stamping his potential as a Power 5 prospect.

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Tatsch also has offers from Marshall and Connecticut. He plays running back and linebacker for the Wildcats.
Tatsch watched WVU humble Pitt, 17-6, joining a crowd of 61,106 at Milan Puskar Stadium.
“It was pretty electric,” he said. “I never experienced a college game like it.”
Latrobe played Thomas Jefferson Friday night. Jaguars coach Bill Cherpak was highly impressed with Tatsch, saying he believes Tatsch is a Power 5 talent.
“And he’s only a junior,” Cherpak said.
This season, Tatsch has 38 tackles, four sacks and two interceptions on defense. On the other side of the ball, he has 15 carries for 115 yards and five receptions for 94 yards and one score.
