Leechburg and Neshannock each picked up a win even before playing their regular-season finale Friday.

The Blue Devils’ Week 5 Eastern Conference game with Springdale from Sept. 26, originally postponed because the Dynamos were without enough healthy players to play the game, was officially declared a forfeit victory for Leechburg on Friday morning.

Leechburg now is 7-2 overall and moved to 5-1 in the conference and further solidified its standing for the WPIAL playoffs.

The Blue Devils, who bounced back from their loss to No. 1 Clairton with last week’s 48-41 win over Brentwood, are in the postseason for the fifth year in a row.

Leechburg will cap off the regular season at 7 p.m. Friday at Greensburg Central Catholic.

Neshannock was awarded a forfeit win from its scheduled game against Rochester on Sept. 13. Rochester was unable to play because of a lack of healthy players. Neshannock is 7-2 overall and 4-1 in the Class A Big 7 Conference and will finish off the regular season Friday at Laurel.

They will each find out their playoff fate Saturday afternoon when the WPIAL football committee releases the brackets.
