Ligonier Valley rolls to another conference track title

The Ligonier Valley boys track team continued its dominance in the Heritage Conference on Tuesday, winning the conference track championship for the fourth consecutive season.
The Rams outscored Homer Center, 145-131.
Senior sprinter Elliot Rost led the way by winning the 100- and 200-meter dashes. He also was on the victorious 400 relay team.
The Rams’ other victory came in the 1,600 relay.
Ligonier Valley had an athlete score in every event.
Zach Beitel finished second to Rost in the 100 and also was on the winning relay team with Rost, Lucas Rashilla and Aaron Tutino.
Josh Haines finished second in the 400, and Donovan Reim placed second in the 3,200 and third in the 1,600. Issac Piper placed second in the 110 hurdles, and Colin Ferlan was third.
Miles Higgins finished second in the javelin, and Blake Bridge was third in the discus and shot put.
The Ligonier Valley girls finished third with 100.5 points behind United (166) and Marion Center (102).
Tatum Hoffman won the high jump, and Morgan Glista place second.
Maddy Pierce earned second-place medals in the 100 hurdles and triple jump.
Other second-place finishes were McKenna Rummel in the 800, Molleigh Henderson in the 400, Isabella Saloom in the 200 and the 3,200 meter relay team.
