Mikayla Lovelace keeps breaking her own records.

Leechburg's star senior set a new school single-game record with 44 points in the Blue Devils' 70-59 win Tuesday at Brentwood, eclipsing the mark of 43 she hit last season against Kiski Area.

“It was kind of surreal,” Lovelace said. “I mean, I didn't even realize I scored that much. I just remember we were down and our whole team came together to get us the lead. I think it's kind of weird that I beat my record by one point, though. I never would have guessed that I scored that much.”

Lovelace, an IUP recruit, hit 17 of 24 shots from the foul line to help No. 4 Leechburg (10-2, 6-1) rally for the win and take over second place outright in Section 2-2A.

And not to be outdone by her scoring, Lovelace added 21 rebounds.
