Luft twins lead West Point to win, spot in Pa. Little League Softball final

Jayelyn Luft tossed a no-hitter, twin sister Jocelyn Luft drove in four runs and West Point moved into the Pennsylvania Little League Softball Major Championship with a 12-1 win Monday against Pittston.

West Point will face unbeaten Indiana at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Wellsboro. If West Point wins, the two teams will square off 2 p.m. Wednesday for the title.

Pittston had beaten West Point, 7-5, on Friday in eight innings.

West Point took a 4-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run double by Jocelyn Luft, a Morgan Maiers RBI ground out and an error.

The West Point added five more runs in the second inning on a two-run single by Jocelyn Luft, a Maiers single and a steal of home.

Sofia Porreca and Rian Starz had RBI doubles in the third inning, and Lily Carroll added an RBI sacrifice fly.

Jayelyn Luft had three hits, and Rian had two hits.
