Thomas Jefferson senior Bode Marlow joined an elite group by winning his fourth Allegheny County Wrestling title Saturday at Fox Chapel

And while adding his name to that exclusive fraternity was nice, he wanted to let WPIAL teams from outside the county know to be wary of the Jaguars.

“I feel we get disrespected,” Marlow said. “We’re definitely better than Bethel Park and Fox Chapel. We’re looking forward to the WPIAL team tournament.”

The Jaguars proved they were the best in the county by scoring a record 292.5 points and finishing with eight placewinners. The previous record was 258 points by North Allegheny in 2007.

Marlow (30-2, 142-29) became only the sixth wrestler to achieve the honor after his 21-6 technical fall win against North Hills junior Carter Morvay at 172.

The other four-time winners are Plum’s Sean Clair (2002-05), Shaler’s Nick Nelson (2004-07), North Allegheny’s Dom Forys (2011-14), North Hills’ Gage Curry (2013-16) and Mount Lebanon’s Luke Stout (2017-20).

Marlow has been scoring a lot of points in his matches by design.

“I probably could get a lot of quick pins, but I’m working on my stamina,” Marlow said. “I’m grateful to be a four-time champion. I don’t know if I was that good as a freshman, but that’s when I started taking wrestling seriously. Not to sound cocky, but I’m a lot better now.”

Fellow TJ wrestler Maddox Shaw became the 13th three-time champion with a 17-2 win against South Fayette senior Luke Dunlap at 152. It was Shaw’s fourth time in the finals. He lost to Plum’s Vince Citrano, 3-2, in 2022.

He looked strong all tournament.

Shaw (18-3, 146-15) is just coming back from an injury to his left knee that he suffered Dec. 22 at the Beast of the East tournament.

“I’m happy to be back,” Shaw said. “I’m very grateful to be back. It’s the longest time off I’ve ever had.

“I wrestled well this week, and so did the team. Me, Bode and Shep have carried us, and now everyone else is buying in. We’re excited about the team tournament.”

The Jaguars’ other winners were senior Brayden White, who defeated Mt. Lebanon junior Cole Gibbons, 10-2, at 160; and senior heavyweight Shepherd Turk, who defeated Carlynton senior Henry Barbisch, 11-0, for his second county title.

Senior Zach LaBryer dropped a 5-4 decision to Central Catholic junior Nez Green at 189. It was Green’s second title.

TJ previously won in 2019.

Moon junior Cael Yanek used two three-point takedowns and blanked Bethel Park senior Seth Miller, 7-0, at 133. It was Yanek’s third time in the finals and his second title. He won the 121 title in 2024.

Pine-Richland senior Dom Ferraro won his second title with a 17-2 technical fall over Plum junior Owen Campbell at 139. Ferraro won the same weight class in 2024.

The other returning champion to win was Central Catholic sophomore Roman Thompson.

Baldwin senior Ramil Islamov finally stood atop the podium in this tournament after his 19-4 technical fall win against Elizabeth Forward sophomore Lucas Boyer at 134. Islamov was fourth in 2022, third in 2023 and second in 2024.

Shaler sophomore Anthony Jones used a takedown in overtime to defeat Highlands junior Javeon Chambers, 7-4, in the 107 final.

Chambers tied the score 4-4 with a reversal with seven 7 seconds left but took a bad shot and got off balance, which allowed Jones to get the winning takedown.

Quaker Valley junior Bruce Anderchak won his second consecutive title with a 17-1 technical win against North Allegheny senior Charlie LaQuatra at 114. Anderchak won the 107 title last year.

Bethel Park sophomore Pierce Reinhart pinned Mt. Lebanon sophomore Jonathan Emma in the second period at 121.

Mt. Lebanon sophomore Evan Sala used a third-period escape to defeat Bethel Park sophomore Colton Fisher, 1-0, at 127.

Host Fox Chapel finished third with 220 points and had eight placewinners: Landon Funk (127, third), Milo Chiu (160, fourth), Michael Worsen (121, fifth), D.J. Noel (127, fifth), Youssef Abdelsalam (133, fifth), Jack Viti (189, fifth), Joey Geller (215, sixth) and D’Angelo Hamilton (285, seventh).

Plum ended up 10th with 130 points. Joining Campbell on the podium were Julien Sepelyak (172, third) and Trent Reese (152, fourth).

Highlands finished 17th with 95.5. points. Joining Chambers on the podium were Aiden Burford (139, fifth) and Jayden Calhoun (189, eighth).

Riverview, with 19 points, had one placewinner, Alex Wylly (160, eighth).
