Matchups set for WPIAL boys tennis doubles finals

Third-seeded Landon Harclerode and Tyler Quinn of Valley won a three-set semifinal Tuesday and will play for a WPIAL Class 2A doubles championship Wednesday afternoon at Bethel Park.
Harclerode and Quinn defeated No.7 Gabe Nettleton and Michael Dubetsky of Indiana, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2, and will face top-seeded Jonah Jasek and Steven Duing of South Park in the finals. Jasek and Duing lost a total of five games in three matches Tuesday.
In Class 3A, the top two seeds made the finals but not without a fight.
In the semifinals, defending champs Zidaan Hassan and Logan Memije of Gateway, the top seeds, beat Ari Plutko and Shawn Khurana of Upper St. Clair, 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-2. Second-seeded Luca Ritivoi and Mark Summers of Mt. Lebanon got past No. 3 Mason Friday and Frank Siegel of Fox Chapel, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.
In Class 3A, the top two finishers advance to states. In Class 2A, the top three finishers move on.
