Friday night’s football game between Ambridge and McGuffey was postponed because no game officials were hired to work the game, said McGuffey athletic director Ed Dalton.
The two teams were supposed to play a Week Zero game at Ambridge’s Moe Rubenstein Stadium, but Dalton said he received a call while en route that the game was off. Ambridge was supposed to hire the officials, Dalton said.
The game has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Ambridge.
It’s the second scheduling issue McGuffey has already encountered this season. McGuffey’s Week 1 opponent, Northgate, announced before the season that it would forfeit, forcing McGuffey to find a new matchup with Clairton for next week.
