Moe Rosensteel Award watch list for WPIAL’s top girls soccer player announced

The 2023 Moe Rosensteel Player of the Year watch list is here, just a few days before the start of the high school season.
This is the fifth year for the award, which is named for the late Katelyn “Moe” Rosensteel and goes to the top girls soccer player in the WPIAL.
The nominees will be pared down to three finalists, who will be announced closer to the WPIAL championship games in November.
Past winners are Ellie Coffield (Mars), Sarah Schupansky (North Allegheny), Kelsey Salopek (Steel Valley) and Hailey Longwell (Moon).
Coffield and Schupansky play for Pitt while Salopek (Kent State) and Longwell (Duquesne) also play for Division I programs.
This year’s winner could come from Latrobe or Moon. Both teams have five nominees.
