Almost 500 miles separate Mt. Lebanon from New Britain, Conn., but basketball has linked the two communities for years.

The next to make the trip is Mt. Lebanon’s Jamey Napoleon, who announced her commitment to Central Connecticut State on Tuesday. She’s the fourth girls basketball player from Mt. Lebanon to play for CCSU in the past decade after Jessica Babe, Jaclyn Babe and Lauren Arbogast.

The high school and college also share the Blue Devils nickname.

Napoleon, who played AAU this summer with the Western Pa. Bruins, will be a senior in the fall. The 6-foot forward also held Division 1 offers from Bryant and Canisius.

CCSU competes in the Northeast Conference. The team finished 7-23 overall last season, 7-11 in the NEC, under coach Beryl Piper, who’s entering her 12th season.
