Mt. Pleasant swimmer Lily King commits to N.C. State

Mt. Pleasant junior swimmer Lily King announced on Instagram on Friday that she is not changing her colors.
She will wear the red of N.C. State. She gave the Wolfpack a verbal commitment.
King has earned six gold medals in the PIAA Class 2A championships. She won the 50- and 100-yard freestyle races and anchored the winning 400-yard relay team as a freshman in 2021 and won titles in the 100 and 200 freestyles and set records in both as a sophomore. She also anchored the winning 200 yard freestyle relay team in the state and helped lead the team to a state title.
King said on Instagram: “I could not be more excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at North Carolina State University!! I would like to thank my family, my coach Sandy, and my MP swim family who have supported me and helped me to get to this point. And a special thanks to the coaches at NC State for this opportunity! So excited to be a part of the Wolfpack! GO PACK!!”
