The way Courtney Wallace played this winter was beyond words, said Neighborhood Academy coach Jordan Marks, adding simply: “You’ve got to see it to believe it.”

Lots of folks did, thanks to the school’s postseason run to WPIAL and PIAA Class A titles. The Yale-bound senior posted a double-double at both Petersen Events Center and Hershey’s Giant Center, which isn’t hard to believe since Wallace averaged a season-long triple-double.

His successes makes him the 2025 TribLive HSSN Boys Basketball Player of the Year.

“Courtney has been phenomenal,” Marks said. “I think he broke the (school) record for rebounds. Broke the record for assists. Obviously, broke the record for scoring. Averaged a triple-double. Amazing. You’ve got to see it to believe it. You have to see him to truly say, ‘Wow!’”

Wallace averaged 22.6 points, 13 rebounds and 10.3 assists per game this season for a team that finished 29-1. For his career, the 6-foot-3 guard compiled 2,056 career points, 1,083 rebounds and 392 assists.

Wallace talks with TribLive HSSN’s Don Rebel about Neighborhood Academy’s success, representing the WPIAL vs. Philadelphia and more on the Rebel Yell Podcast.
