Mike Burrell wears a lot of hats as the athletic director at Norwin, a PIAA official and a co-chairman for the WPIAL football steering committee.
But he also works Pittsburgh Steelers home games as part of the game-in-progress crew.
Since this week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings in Dublin, Ireland is technically a Steelers home game, Burrell will make the trip across the pond to do his usual job.
The NFL hired Burrell to work Sunday morning’s game.
Burrell runs the scoreboard at Acrisure Stadium, meaning he operates the clock, updates the score and marks off down and distance.
He has been working with the Steelers for five years.
Burrell won’t be attending Norwin’s road game Friday against North Hills.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I am looking forward to the overall experience,” Burrell said. “I leave on Thursday and return on Monday. I’ll be watching Norwin from my phone on Friday night at midnight in Ireland.”
