Snowberger honored
Norwin fans probably won’t be surprised to hear that Bailey Snowberger is thriving in her first season of college softball.
In fact, the freshman shortstop quickly caught the attention Maine’s opposing coaches.
Snowberger was named to the America East Conference All-Rookie Team.
She had a .273 average with eight doubles and a home run heading into the conference tournament and had started all 46 regular-season games.
Maine went 1-2 in the conference tournament to finish at 12-37.
AMCC champs with Behrend
With an 8-2 win over No. 2 seed Alfred State, the Penn State Behrend baseball team (30-9) won its second consecutive AMCC title and eighth overall.
They advanced to play in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Two Norwin alums are on the roster in sophomore outfielder Jake Awenowicz and freshman pitcher Nate Helphenstine (Norwin).
Lokay wins PAC title
Senior softball player Sydney Lokay, a Norwin alum, won a second straight Presidents’ Athletic Conference title.
Lokay had a base hit in the championship game, a 7-0 victory over Grove City. She was hitting .282 with six doubles, a triple and six RBI in 38 games.
