Annie, get your run.

Norwin junior Annie Czajkowski opened the cross country season with a bang as she ran to victory at the Riverside Classic Night Invitational at Riverside High School in Ohio.

Czajkowski posted a time of 18 minutes, 31.46 seconds to hold back Elena Barrall of Manheim Township by 27 seconds.

Sophomores Addison Farrah and Emily Dansak of Norwin finished sixth and seventh, at 19:29 and 19:30.

With four runners in the top 12, the Norwin girls scored 46 points to take the team title.

The boys team finished fifth.

400 game

Norwin became just the sixth Westmoreland County football program to reach 400 wins when the Knights knocked off Penn-Trafford, 26-14, in the season opener in North Huntingdon.

They join five teams that also won their season openers in Jeannette (778), Greensburg Salem (712), Monessen (686), Latrobe (476) and Ligonier Valley (466).

The Knights are 400-604-36 all time.

They hadn’t won their season opener since 2018.
