Sprinter Ryan Schiller came home from Shippensburg with the best Norwin individual finish at the PIAA track championships since 2017.

Schiller finished second in the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.36 seconds.

The Knights had plenty of highlights from the state meet, which celebrated its 100th anniversary, at Seth Grove Stadium.

• Annie Czajkowski took fifth place in the 3,200-meter run in 10 minutes, 32.63 seconds. She also set a personal record and finished eighth in the 1,600 (4:56.52).

• Brandi Brozeski finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles (14.47)

• Luke Simpson was 12th in the 1,600 in 4:16, bettering his school record.

• The senior athletes brought their caps and gowns and wore them for an informal graduation ceremony since they could not join the rest of their class back home.

Strong spring

Norwin has had plenty to celebrate during this WPIAL spring season.

The baseball team reached the 6A championship game, softball made the 6A semifinals, the boys and girls track and field teams won 3A titles, and girls lacrosse advanced to the 3A quarterfinals.
