Ohio State joins list of schools recruiting Mars’ Michael Carmody

Mars junior Michael Carmody added his ninth Big 10 football offer Thursday when conference champion Ohio State joined his scholarship list .

The Buckeyes joined conference foes Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Maryland, Nebraska, Rutgers and Wisconsin in recruiting the 6-foot-6, 290-pound offensive tackle.

Overall, Carmody holds nearly two dozen offers, including Pitt and West Virginia. Auburn offered him a scholarship Tuesday, adding another SEC school to his options. The Tigers joined Mississippi State and Missouri.

Rivals ranks Carmody as a four-star recruit and the second-best prospect from Pennsylvania in the 2020 graduating class.

He starts at center for the Mars basketball team, which enters the WPIAL playoffs as the No. 1 seed in Class 5A.
