Penn-Trafford athletes earn postseason honors

The WPIAL champion Penn-Trafford girls soccer team was well-represented on the all-section team.

Forward Lauren Stovar, midfielders Mackenzie Aunkst and Hannah Nguyen and defender Sarah Nguyen were first-team selections, and Jackie Bartko was named coach of the year.

Midfielders Kiley Dugan and Brady Tramuta, defender Erin Brady and keeper Megan Giesey were second-team picks, and midfielder Jordan Lawrence was an honorable mention.

In boys soccer, midfielders Noah Schlessinger and Austin Kreutzberger and defender Ryan Hilty were first-team selections.

Forward Tyler Pisarek was a second-team pick. Defender Jake Rausch was honorable mention.

In football, senior tackle Mitch Nedley, senior running back John Gay, senior defensive tackle Logan Hawkins, defensive end Will Mayr, senior outside linebacker Cam Laffoon, senior outside linebacker Matt Wilkie, junior defensive back Dimitri George and senior kicker Nick Tarabrella were first-team All-Big East Conference selections. John Ruane was named coach of the year.

On the second team were sophomore multi-back Caleb Lisbon, senior wide receiver Cam Suman and senior defensive back Anthony Cervone. Sophomore center Dylan Schmidt, sophomore guard Josh Cheplick, senior guard Cam Elma and junior tight end Nico Rosso were honorable mentions.

In volleyball, Penn-Trafford was represented on the All-Section 3-AAAA first team by senior setter Samantha Kelly and senior hitter Jessica Heiman. Hitters Mackenzie Schropp and Stephanie O'Donnell were second-team picks.

In field hockey, Jordyn Bachman was honorable mention All-WPIAL. She was joined on the All-Section 1-AAA team by Emily Polakovsky and honorable mention Alayna Wagner.
