Penn-Trafford boys claim WCCA swimming title

The Penn-Trafford boys swimming and diving team captured the title at the annual Westmoreland County Coaches Association championship meet Saturday.
First-place finishers for the Warriors included Ben Yant in the 500 freestyle (5:00.32) and the 400 freestyle relay team of Luke Babik, John Sandala, Zachary Snelling and Jacob Yant (3:16.81).
The boys 200 medley relay team of Snelling, Babik, Sandala and Jacob Yant (1:40.63); Austin Prokopec in the 200 free (1:49.57); Babik in the 50 free (22.28); Logan Sherwin in diving (481.4 points); Sandala in the 100 fly (54.14); Jordan Prokopec in the 500 free (5:03.27); and the 200 free relay of Austin Prokopec, Ben Yant, Nick Graziano and Sandala (1:30.72); all finished second in their events.
Snelling finished third in the 200 IM (2:02.88), and Babik was third in the 100 free (48.86).
The girls team finished in third place. Hannah Muro took first in the 100 backstroke (1:00.66), and the 400 freestyle relay team of Corina Paszek, Amanda Graves, Rachel Sich and Muro took first (3:39.69).
Earning runner-up finishes were Muro, 200 free (1:59.50); Paszek, 200 IM (2:11.63); Paige Kalik, diving (469.80 points); and the 200 free relay of Paszek, Graves, Sich and Muro (1:41.32).
Jackson Patula was third in diving (332.75), and Alyssa Tomb was third in the 500 free (5:29.43).
