Penn-Trafford notebook: Girls soccer team wins thriller in section opener

Emilie Oslosky scored a hat trick to lead Penn-Trafford to a dramatic victory over Latrobe in its girls soccer Section 1-4A opener Sept. 3.

Ellie Lebe added a goal and an assist for the Warriors, who held off a late charge by Latrobe to come away with a 4-3 victory.

The win was Penn-Trafford’s first of the season after a pair of challenging nonconference losses to Peters Township and Upper St. Clair.

Bachar keys win

Senior Mallory Bachar scored two goals, and the Penn-Trafford field hockey team edged Latrobe, 2-1.

Sophomore Brooke Bauer had two assists, and junior Annabell Carvahal had one assist.

Great game for Desmond

Quarterback Nate Desmond completed 13 of 23 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns as Penn-Trafford defeated Mt. Lebanon, 26-18, in Week 1.

Nick Ponko had eight catches for 151 yards and two touchdowns. Desmond also rushed for a score.

Cody Yacamelli rushed for 43 yards and a score.

The Warriors were 2-0 heading into their final nonconference test, a trip to Moon, in Week 2.

Anthony shines

Freshman Kylie Anthony, a 2025 Penn-Trafford grad, had eight kills, five service aces and five digs to help the Westminster women’s volleyball team defeat Bethany, 3-0.
