Peters Township and Sewickley Academy Back on Top of WPIAL Girls Team Tennis

Four great WPIAL girls team tennis programs continue to go back and forth like a good volley in winning district gold. In Class AAA, Shady Side Academy won back-to-back WPIAL titles in 2007 and 2008 before Peters Township snapped that golden streak by winning the 2009 championship. SSA won it back in 2010 and Peters continued the tug-of-war theme by winning the 2011 crown Wednesday afternoon in five straight sets. Now in Class AA, Sewickley Academy is back on top of the golden hill after a straight sets victory Thursday afternoon over Quaker Valley. The Panthers 2011 is joined by championships captured in 2008 and 2009 while the runner-up Quakers have won district gold in 2004 through 2007 and in 2010.
