PIAA announces sites, times for state football quarterfinals

WPIAL champions Central Catholic and Aliquippa learned the location of their state playoff openers when the PIAA on Sunday released quarterfinal sites.

In Class 6A, Central Catholic faces District 6 champion State College at Mansion Park Stadium in Altoona. In 4A, Aliquippa plays District 10 champion Oil City at Slippery Rock University. Both games are 7 p.m. Friday.

The four other WPIAL champions will be crowned Saturday at Acrisure Stadium.

City League qualifier Westinghouse plays Bishop Guilfoyle in a PIAA Class A quarterfinal Friday at River Valley in Blairsville.
