A quartet of WPIAL-champion lacrosse teams will attempt to play their PIAA first-round matchups Friday after Mother Nature again prevented them from taking the field Thursday afternoon and evening.
Mars will host three of the four squads in a tripleheader starting at 2 p.m. with the Oakland Catholic girls putting their undefeated record on the line against District 10 champion Villa Maria in a Class AA contest.
The Shady Side Academy girls will meet District 10 Class AAA champion McDowell at 4, and the Pine-Richland boys will face District 10 champion McDowell in Class AAA action at 6.
The Mars boys will take on Trinity, the No. 4 Class AA team from District 3, at a site and time yet to be determined and posted by the PIAA.
All state quarterfinal games are Saturday.
