PIAA releases semifinal sites, times for 2024 state baseball playoffs

WPIAL baseball teams Avonworth, Eden Christian and Indiana learned the site and time of their state semifinal games when the PIAA released the schedule Friday.

The semifinals are Monday. Avonworth’s bus is headed to Homer City, Eden Christian travels to Slippery Rock and Indiana will ride to Bellefonte.

The semifinal schedule was incomplete until five quarterfinal games were completed Friday, including a Class 5A matchup involving Bethel Park. The Black Hawks lost to District 12 champion Monsignor Bonner, 6-4.

Class 6A

3-1 Hempfield (20-5) vs. 1-2 Downingtown West (20-5) at Muhlenberg, 7 p.m.

12-1 LaSalle College (23-3) vs. 2-1 Hazleton (21-4) at De Sales University, 4 p.m.

Class 5A

6-1 Hollidaysburg (16-5) vs. 12-1 Monsignor Bonner (19-8) at East Pennsboro, 4 p.m.

3-2 Governor Mifflin (20-4) vs. 3-4 Shippensburg/4-1 Selinsgrove winner at Hershey, 4 p.m.

Class 4A

7-2 Indiana (15-10) vs. 3-3 Fleetwood (15-8) at Governor’s Park, Bellefonte, 4 p.m.

4-1 Danville (19-4) vs. 1-1 Holy Ghost Prep (14-8) at Wegner Field, Fredericksburg, 4:30 p.m.

Class 3A

12-1 Neumann-Goretti (19-6) vs. 3-2 Trinity (17-8) at Muhlenberg, 4 p.m.

7-1 Avonworth (17-9) vs. 9-1 Punxsutawney (17-3) at First Commonwealth Field, Homer City, 4 p.m.

Class 2A

4-1 Wyalusing Valley (19-6) vs. 11-1 Tri-Valley (20-4) at Central Columbia, 4 p.m.

6-1 Bald Eagle Area (22-2) vs. 5-1 North Star (21-4) at Mt. Aloysius College, 3 p.m.

Class A

1-1 Faith Christian (21-0) vs. 6-1 Bishop McCort (16-8) at Greene Township Park, Scotland, 4 p.m.

7-2 Eden Christian (18-6) vs. 10-2 Saegerstown (20-3) at Slippery Rock University, 3 p.m.
