The PIAA boys volleyball and boys and girls lacrosse playoffs have reached the final four, which is how many WPIAL teams remain in the three tournaments.

After being the lone survivors of the first round, the two WPIAL champions in boys volleyball — Shaler in 3A and Mars in 2A — were quarterfinal winners Saturday and are now semifinals bound.

The fortunes were not as good for WPIAL lacrosse teams.

Of the seven boys and girls lacrosse teams that won in the first round, only two boys Class 2A teams advanced to Tuesday’s state semifinals.

WPIAL Class 2A champion Mars faces district runner-up South Fayette in a rematch of the WPIAL title match.

The PIAA 2A semifinals match guarantees a WPIAL team will play in the boys 2A state championship match for a fourth straight year.

Here are the sites and times for the PIAA boys volleyball, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse semifinals matches set for Tuesday.
