PIAA announces semifinal sites, times for 2024 state softball playoffs

Neshannock and Laurel won’t travel far for the next round of the PIAA softball playoffs and neither will Chartiers-Houston or Carmichaels.

Those four teams will square off in two all-WPIAL matchups in the state semifinals Monday. Neshannock and Laurel meet at Mohawk while Chartiers-Houston and Carmichaels play at Peterswood Park in Peters Township.

Thomas Jefferson and Elizabeth Forward will travel farther. Thomas Jefferson faces District 6 champion Central Mountain at Mt. Aloysius College in Cresson. Elizabeth Forward draws District 12’s Archbishop Wood in Chambersburg.

Class 6A

1-4 Downingtown East (26-0) vs. 1-5 Council Rock South (21-3) at Spring-Ford, 4 p.m.

3-1 Central Dauphin (18-3) vs. 1-3 North Penn (23-3) at Lyons Ballfield, Mertztown, 4:30 p.m.

Class 5A

2-1 Pittston Area (20-1) vs. 3-1 South Western (26-0) at Pine Grove, 4 p.m.

7-2 Thomas Jefferson (14-8) vs. 6-1 Central Mountain (16-5) at Mt. Aloysius College, 4:30 p.m.

Class 4A

11-1 Blue Mountain (25-1) vs. 11-2 Northwestern Lehigh (22-4) at Lyons Ballfield, Mertztown, 6:30 p.m.

12-3 Archbishop Wood (13-7) vs. 7-1 Elizabeth Forward (22-1) at Norlo Park Softball Complex, Chambersburg, 4 p.m.

12-1 Conwell-Egan (15-3) vs. 6-2 Juniata (24-2) at Millersville University, 4 p.m.
