PIAA sets times, sites for baseball quarterfinals

It was a strong start to the 2025 PIAA baseball playoffs for the 19 qualifiers from the WPIAL on Monday.

District 7 teams were a combined 13-6 in the opening round, including a perfect 8-0 showing from the teams in Class 6A, 4A and 3A.

The WPIAL teams from 5A were 3-1, the 2A teams were 1-2 and the teams from Class A split, going 2-2.

Five of the six recently crowned WPIAL champions are moving on to the state quarterfinals with Seneca Valley, Shaler, Indiana, Riverside and Freedom winning in ways ranging from impressively to barely.

The lone exception was in Class A as Serra Catholic lost in the first round for a fourth straight year.

Here are the sites and times for Thursday’s quarterfinals, along with results from the first round of the state baseball playoffs.
